  • Hmmm ... I didn't know this video existed until now. I've only ever known the original UK version.

This one is tragic. Professionally put together, yes. But the band look like they were forced into uncomfortable jollyness. Miki, in particular, had a number of 'pop-vixen' poses that obviously didn't sit well with her.

Perhaps it was all ironic and they were acting ... but I think this video has the heavy-handed touch of money men involved.

  • I don't know if others have said this already, the the original version of the video was loads better. The song is about the Fiat 500, so the original video made sense that way. The US version is just a generic "music video" devoid of context. It's a song about a very small car; what's with the frolicking girl with the plastic wig?

  • Miki: "I've never been inside you but you're so alluring."

  • OMG I FORGOT ABOUT THIS SONG!!!!

  • I love this song and the girl of the video!!

  • on the wikipedia lush article´s there is a link for a great interview of Miki talking and links to a site of memories

  • Does this band have a good biography? I want to know what the fuck happened. I know one guy committed suicide, then the band basically fell apart and nobody did anything of the same size again. Did Miki just get fed up with it all and retreat to a "normal" life? Are these people married with kids now? What's going on? So much sadness associated with this band of good times past.

  • i first heard this song when i was 17 in work on the radio, it was a friday morning, so it makes me feel good.

  • I love Lush! Miki Berenyi and Mike Patton (from Mr. Bungle and Faith No More) are my favorite artists of all time. I could just listen to Lush all day everyday

  • that red hair is just awesome

  • Shoegazing should be taught in school, not how much is too much hairspray to be emo or queer. No offense, the old form of the word.

  • love this song and video, really miss lush

  • Really into lush again at the moment. I strangely like this (great vid) although its the 'split' album for me everytime!

  • a female stone roses......

  • It would have been interesting to see what Lush's next album would have been like had Chris not killed himself. Lovelife was a whole different direction for them, and I always wonder where they would have gone next.

  • I have to agree, amazing band. But even they knew around when this album came out that they were pretty much tapped out musically.

  • Top fuckin track off a top album love lush shake baby shake anytime...

  • great catchy song. too bad theyre no more

  • You're wrong. I love Lofelife and if it wasn't for that album alot of people would have never heard of them. There are some real gems on that record including this song.

  • "I've never been inside you but you're so alluring/ They call you Little Mouse by name in Rome and Turin."

    Quite.

  • how is called the intro song?

  • The brief song clip at the beginning of the video is "Mickey" by Toni Basil, I believe.

  • thnx i found it. Its in awful song though...

  • Yes, it ("Mickey") is one of those bad songs that sticks in your head after listening to it....

  • Version2???

i had never seen this before.

    thnx for the posting.

    i miss lush badly...

  • Taking me in with all your charms - beautiful.

  • This is such a light-hearted song and bright video, it hardly portends the tragedy to shortly follow. Miki Berenyi, you lit up the pop skyline with your achingly beautiful songs and megawatt persona. You'll always have a special place in my heart.

  • Just when Lush hit their peak, tragic circumstances meant, this was their final single :-(

  • To Miki - Shake baby Shake. How I wish you were my girl. You were my dream girl in the 90s.

  • "They don't make them like you anymore" - Lush I miss ya!

  • As a person who literally has a LUSH addiction this was a proper post to feed my habit. I can't get enough of this band.

  • Me too, I have two copies of all there stuff on vinyl and always have them on my MP3 player. Their music is beautiful and haunting and this song is so nice that it make me sing along. I've had to choke back tears when I hear I'd Like to Walk Around in You Mind on Topolino.

  • wow cool! never seen this before!!

  • I guess this is the American version? Cool.

  • I have a live recording were they talk about making the video for this song outside of LA. Looks like the desert here in Las Vegas.

  • Phil King has also recently shared his own pics of this footage : you can see them on the Light From A Dead Star website.
