Tarantino style for sure. Just played the demo. One of the best games I've ever played. Definately the best I've played on PS3! There is no downing this game. It may look similar to max payne but it's nothing like it. Trust me. Very very original! Love it!

Since the moves, just look so identical to Stranglehold resp. Tomb Raider. This game is definately NOT next gen material. The Cut scenes and motion capture (if it even is motion capture) looks weak and robotic and puppeteered. GTA for ps2 had wayy better and much more realistic sequences and Metal Gear Sons of Liberty is still top notch in next gen. Wet is super cookie cutter PC and falls under Die Hard trilogy PS1 .
With being filmed on a camera from a tv the graphics really suffer from that. But never really judge a game without playing it. Left 4 Dead looked great and fun then I beat it in 4 hours on the hardest setting really sucked the fun out and then online got boring after another hour.
This game does look fun and great something that will keep me playing for weeks if not months, lets all hope for some sorta online.

I also haven't seen much swordplay either

That would add to the over the top Tarantino style they are going for. I am pulling for this game though but damn does it have some tough competition this Fall. My sister has a PS3 and I have a 360, both are fine systems but I see no degree of separation between the two. Usually when one system is far better performance wise you hear a consensus among the gaming community which includes gamers, developers and editors. I see no such consensus. The exclusives are comparable, as are the multiplatforms and on paper they are practically equal with the 360 having the edge in GPU and PS3 with edge in CPU. I just haven't seen a big difference like xbox-ps2

Your missing the point. The ps3 is the better system, but look at it from the developers stand point. You come up with a game idea, you pitch the idea, your given a team of so many people, so much money and, so much time. You want to make the most out of that. You can spend more money and take more time to make the ps3 game, or spend less money and take less time to make almost the same game and just port it over.
And its not always the developers decision on what system a game comes out on. Depending on who you get to pick up your game can affect the console you develop for. In this cause they got Bethesda to pick it up, and we all know that Bethesda loves Microsoft. So of course thier going to push the developer to make it for the 360 and just port it over to the ps3. And from the BigWigs point of view, if you make a game for all the consoles you make more money because its more accessible to all gamers

Ya, this game could certainly benefit from some polish. The camera seems like it might be a problem, and the graphics are only so-so for a 360 game. I was expecting more clouds of dust where the bullets impacted the environment, and more blood, maybe a little dismemberment (Gears of War style). But, I still think that it'll be pretty cool. Certainly better than lots of other shooters out there.
if they're going to make a Tarentino-style, over-the-top, action game, they should go all the way. Where's the limb dismemberment or extreme gore? Just cause I can run along the wall blasting away, doesn't mean it's satisfying... when you kill a guy and the same old weak pitter patter of blood clouds out... it just makes me think of every other game i've played for the last 10 years.

if there were other characters you could play as.....it might get that little edge

Ya, this game could certainly benefit from some polish. The camera seems like it might be a problem, and the graphics are only so-so for a 360 game. I was expecting more clouds of dust where the bullets impacted the environment, and more blood, maybe a little dismemberment (Gears of War style). But, I still think that it'll be pretty cool. Certainly better than lots of other shooters out there.

if they're going to make a Tarentino-style, over-the-top, action game, they should go all the way. Where's the limb dismemberment or extreme gore? Just cause I can run along the wall blasting away, doesn't mean it's satisfying... when you kill a guy and the same old weak pitter patter of blood clouds out... it just makes me think of every other game i've played for the last 10 years.
sex appeal? Slow motion? Twin pistols? do something new for christ's sake.

I think that was just bad advertising to have "La Grange" playing as if it is a western shooter, when this is most obviously inspired by asian action movies and such.

I agree. This game has very cool concept when it comes to stylish gun action but it doesn't seem like that feature translates to the sword combat.
I still want to see this game get published and maybe if it does well enough they could improve the sword usage.

I fucking hate it when people start to compare games. so fucking what if it looks like stranglhold or max payne, who playes those games now anyway. this game has different characters, different story, different levels and developed by different people. people who liked stranghold and maxpayne will also like this game. if you dont like this game then fuck you.
