@jus102u No only the second router needs to be dd-wrt for the repeater bridge. Both do need to be dd-wrt if you want a WDS. I recommend both to be dd-wrt though.
@kpucci From what I've read, WDS has more overhead because it works like a mesh network. You have all the WDS points communicating with each other at all times. Where as in a repeater bridge, the only time it basically communicates it's when it needs access to the internet from the "target router".
