Can someone tell me what is the best way to get rid of long green algae in my tank my glass is covered and i can't seem to get rid of it. Is there any saltwater fish that will get rid of it that i can put in my 55 gallon i was thinking some type of blenny.
@TheVideoGameProdiGs check your nitrate and phosphate levels, make sure you do regular water quality tests. only use RO/DI water for mixing with your salts. Once the Nitrates and Phos are in check, get yourself a sea hare, they demolish long hair algae. Once the algae is all eaten by the sea hare you'll need to find it a new home or get some suitable foodstuffs for it.
Um, no, I know someone who has a purple tang, and it sure as hell don't look like that! Check out my tank if you think I'm a "nube", or maybe I'll put up a video of my mentor's tank and you can see what a purple tang looks like!
Ahh, I see, its hard to tell the way the video was taken! I know I haven't been doing this a REAL long time, but I've had my tank for about a year now, and with no losses to date, and as great a mentor as I have, I kinda took offense to what was said, I just knew that if that was a butterfly fish that guys corals were toast!
ha yea, actualy some butterfly fish such as the copper-band butterfly have been able to be kept in reef tanks, so not alays are they lethal to corals, but you would be right, none of them do very well in reef tanks.
Yeah, I just know that they can be known to "peck" at corals occasionally, and if you're putting that much money into your coral, why take that chance?! I have enough trouble trying to come up with money for corals that I get at my guys cost, so I'm real careful with them!
frequent water changes are good only with R/O water , otherwise the opposite is better ( u continiusly feed the water with copper and phosphorus rather than cleaning it ;) )
awesome tank i want one!!!
