heres a beautiful idea i hope would happen one day. with the new technology of making vague images of peoples thoughts i hope they one day hook him up and play a game and compare how well he comprehends the game. its possible what he "sees" is 10x more beautiful then the actual game
@TomCulp In the emulator he's using he can save the game instantly and load the game instantly. Everytime he touches the keyboard hes saving the game.
Im sorry guys ive never seen this gy before. But how do you do it? I mean how does he know where all the crawlspaces are? where eniemes are. where turns are. Different obsticles?
@Patriotsfan346 It's a really cool process. I think he talked about it in one of his earlier videos. He counts the steps his character takes, and he has a friend teach him the layout of the temple. He uses his sword to tell if a wall is a door, because when the sword hits a wall, it will sound like wood or steel in Zelda OOT.
@NiDezigns It's a really cool process. I think he talked about it in one of his earlier videos. He counts the steps his character takes, and he has a friend teach him the layout of the temple. I wish, of all games, he could play Skyrim :(
With trial and error anybody could play this. It just so happens that Terry Garrett has enough patience and love for the game that he can complete it without help.
@blackcrow6667 they dont have to be. you can have multiple walkthroughs, and then it is trial and error. no one is helping him besides the walkthroughs and the small ammount of youtube uploads helping with a specific part on the water temple, so far at least.
why would this be impossible anyway? you know people who miss sight can hear, feel, taste and smell better because of it right? and hearing happens to be a big thing here.
@blackcrow6667 he's blind. Why does he have to prove himself to you when you can't even appreciate a natural talent. You don't know how to appreciate life like he does. Only when people lose something will they understand the meaning of life. You have to lose in order to gain. This man is a genius and does not need an explanation, because he already enjoys his life more then most of us.
@RockNinjaToska Sounds like you subscribed out of pity? I don't treat anyone differently for their difference but I guess you do. For your information, he did cover a lot of how he does things in his most recent videos and many people had thought he had help editing the videos, I'm not the only one who had legitimate curiosity so, if you feel you have to defend him because you pity him, that's on you sir, not me.
no it's not pity and why not enjoy the video when its a zelda video rather then have this discussion. No I pity no one. He says he does what he does and I am fascinated by his talent and respect for others. Also I just found out about him yesterday and I must say what he does is impressive. If you need to ask those questions why not ask in the editing videos rather then the Zelda one also? Pity is such a childish word. Guess you don't understand people yourself brosef.
@RockNinjaToska It's a comment section, I can ask what I want, or are you imposing new rules? If he weren't blind, do you think you'd be subscribing for the Zelda? Give me a break.
@blackcrow6667 There have been studies and as far as neurology goes, the brain is a machine that does need it's fix from time to time where denying that, only leads to more problems. More generally, I believe in a tolerant, open society, you don't and we'll never agree so I don't know why you continue to reply to comments I leave for others. :) I can't spend all day here you know.
@blackcrow6667 There is a walkthrough designed for a blind run. A guy spent two years writing it, and it's over 100.000 keystrokes. It was on CNN. I'm not saying Garrett is using it. As I understand it, he is using multiple walkthroughs and listens to LP's on Youtube. If I had that walkthough though, I would totally go for a blind run.
So awesome! He's better at OOT than I am :D

@randomasiangeek He probably doesn't "see" anything in his head, as he's blind.

I find it soothing to watch this. The controller clicks, and when you do that thang with that unknown device.

I'm more surprised to the fact that these dungeons don't scare the piss out of you when you can't see anything than I am that you are actually blind.

Someone has to be helping him, even with the YouTube uploads, this seems impossible, no walk-through would be detailed enough.

You should play shadow of the collosus on ps2 or ps3 because it has in depth advanced 3d sound and should be a challenge.
