The sad thing about Mormons is that they will believe ANYTHING a higher up tells them. I dated a Mormon girl a few years ago and I had tried many times to witness to her through the Bible. I tried to show her that what she believed was false. I told her one of her own doctrines and she said that Mormons do not believe that. We went to the Mormon Missionaries in the area and they said yes that is correct. Her response was, "Awesome! That is so cool!" It is so sad that the evidence is right there.

All powerful, all knowing, etc. Also, if you are a "good Mormon", you will enter the 3rd and highest form of Heaven where you will receive a planet and there you and your wife will have spirit children and that will be your own planet to rule just like God does with ours. I am not making that up. As crazy as it sounds, the missionaries told us that was true!

Why would he leave unless he sincerely thought the LDS Church is wrong? What would he have to gain?

Would he gain new friendships and the admiration of his family? Doubtful, since all his friends and family are probably still in the LDS Church.

Would his friends stick by him, respect his decision, and do all they can to help him? Nope, his former friends would do all they can to get him to repent and return.

So what would he have to gain by leaving?

Most of this has already been researched and well documented by FAIR and other teams of researchers but perhaps you haven't gotten the memo to stop rehashing already refuted material. It seems much more likely now that what many have cleaved to in desperation now only do so in rebellion to the church based on any solid ground.

The attempt to prove the LDS church wrong is a house of cards... most people don't realize that is what's being built.

I often hear that these "are tired old arguments that have already been refuted" from Mormons...but rarely do you guys actually challenge the content.

Joseph Smith's interpretation doesn't even come close to the actual text in the facsimile...not according to me, but according to an Egyptologist who is biased in Smith's favor...how do you explain that?...at least summarize it here if it is too long.

You say it has been refuted, but provide no further explanation, only quotes from the Book of Mormon.

Open your eyes to the truth...it is right in front of you. We cannot test a self-proclaimed prophet without looking at his works...Joseph Smith failed the test.
