@15taki - Actually, Zero is the original carrier for the Maverick Virus. It got transfeered over to Sigma where it turned into the Sigma-virus. It is theorized that the Maverick virus is the "evil Energy" discovered in Megaman 8.

How is putting someone in a mechanical body with superior enchancements a punishment? As far I've readed from the series, Weil's body had superior armor, superior brainpower (he's thought to be smarter then the humans) and perfect regrenation. I'd sacrifice every limb of my body for such enchancements, and these nitwits punish people with that? My guess is that he became mechanized in the period he was leading the "baddies".
Considering that Dr. Weil is old enough to be a stowaway on Noah's Ark and the fact that his body is constantly in pain, and the fact that he was banished from the one inhabitial spot on the planet, and the fact that he is incapable of feeling physical pleasure and the fact that he can't taste anything and the fact that he was forced to wander in darkness , and the fact that he can't end this misery, I'd say it sucks to be him.

Perhaps the most moving part of the Elf War Retrospect scene is X and Zero's lines before they use Final Strike on Omega.
Zero: "Be gone, my nightmare!"
X: "Farewell, my destiny!"
It's so simple and yet it defines what that final battle means to the both of them in such a profound way. Zero's waking nightmare of doubt and bloodshed being embodied through Omega, and his desire to destroy that, and X finally seeing an end to his destiny of 'fighting for everlasting peace,' after so many years.
I watched the whole Movie .....I cried at the end of it.....I am amazed that someone would take the time to do this......It is like a dream come true ( really ).....

@Terralventhe Technically he only ever DIED once at the end of X1. The other times his condition was just "unverified" and left at that. Never once confirmed his death after X1, therefore he only officially died once, if you really look closely at things.

The real Zero, as he explained in the game when he reappears, simply hid himself so that he could repair himself. He wasn't dead.
Also, there's no proof that he was dead after Ragnarok either. The Official Complete works deems his condition "unknown," not dead. Plus, there was no crystal in his helmet, so he removed it?

i thought MMZ started after MMX 5 where Zero Flew the space shuttle into the Colony that had ben massivly infected with the Sigma Viruswhich even though it still crashed it didn't do as much damage as it could of, and Zeros body went into a self Repair Cold stasis while taped in the wreckage of the Shuttle.

It was caused by the cyber elves and Omega. When the Dark Elf corrupted the reploids, the only way to deal with the war was to kill them until it was recaptured. Combine this with the fact that many reploids were using cyber elves to increase their powers and alter the real world, and you have chaotic mayhem on a grand scale.

No. The X6 ending was meant for further down the line; it occured sometime after Command Mission. During the Elf Wars, Zero's mind is in a copied body. After the exile of Omega and Dr. Weil, Zero sealed himself once more.
92 years later, X sacrifices his body to the dark elf up in the Tree of Life, due to the energy shortage.
Ciel then creates Copy X, who for 8 years rules with an iron fist.
Ciel joins the resistance and they reactivate Zero in his new body, starting the Zero series.
Although the Axl's dialouge in CM suggests that it came first, the big obstical in that theory is that it is repeatily emphasized that CM takes place in 22XX, and X8 is still in 21XX.
One translation error, I could understand, but not a repeated error.
This is probably the best movie ever.....and this final video.....the Elf Wars....is so moving....Zero....X....Axl....no matter what, I'll find some way to download this! Put it on a DVD maybe.....

According to the Megaman Zero Official Complete Works timeline, Zero discovered he was spreading the virus and admitted himself to a research facility (this was the X6 ending I think).
While he was asleep Dr. Weil caused the elf wars and during the final year Zero's mind was in a copy body and he helped X end the war. He then decided to seal himself up for good after the elf wars, knowing that as long as he exists, blood will run.
Actually, yes it did help ^^ I always DID find that a bit confuseing, several plot portions in the MMZ series confuse me, make it seem like there's some kind of continuity error, this vid really helped clear that out though! ^^ Thanks a bunch dude! ^^

@Terralventhe Technically he only ever DIED once at the end of X1. The other times his condition was just "unverified" and left at that. Never once confirmed his death after X1, therefore he only officially died once, if you really look closely at things.

@XeroTenjin93 Well, 'confirmed' in official records, sure. But Zero died in X5 and was revived again by Wily/Isoc, and unless you're telling me that burning up in the atmosphere and becoming a cyber ghost isn't dying, then he died a third time during the Ragnarok Incident.

@Terralventhe Well...Technically the cyber ghost wasn't Zero. That was a nightmare spirit, as was shown later on in the game where you have to fight the nightmare zero itself. The real Zero, as he explained in the game when he reappears, simply hid himself so that he could repair himself. He wasn't dead.
Also, there's no proof that he was dead after Ragnarok either. The Official Complete works deems his condition "unknown," not dead. Plus, there was no crystal in his helmet, so he removed it?

@XeroTenjin93 I wasn't talking about 'Nightmare Zero'. I was talking about Zero. Since you apparently read into things literally, allow me to elaborate: Zero died in X5. Wily revived him. Zero didn't know how he was revived, so he lied to X about hiding and repairing himself.
And the proof of him dying after Ragnarok is ZX. Ciel never gave up on searching for Zero, so he was classified as 'condition unknown' because she didn't want to admit he was dead. Yet he's a Livemetal, which means he died

@Terralventhe So where again does Wily revive him at all? I think you have that confused for when Dr Light revived X at the end of X5 because of HIS own severe damage. The cyber ghost you described is just the nightmare virus, used by Gate.
The Livemetal that he "became" likely was formed after Zero finally passed, which could've been still during Ciel's lifetime (since she was very young) and his cyber elf then was adapted to livemetal.
I don't even like considering ZX canon anyways.

I said Cyber Elf, referancing the fact that Livemetals require the Cyber Elf of a reploid as its consciousness. And it seems awfully convenient for you that Zero survives ENTERING THE ATMOSPHERE when the entry tore an entire space station apart, only to 'pass away peacefully' off-screen later on, rather than Ciel search ceaselessly for him to no avail

However, you completely (and probably intentionally) took it out of context, seeing as I said 'cyber ghost' in referance to Livemetals. In other words cyber ghost = cyber ELF. Which is what a Cyber Elf is in the first place, a Reploid 'soul'.

Still, doesn't prove that Wily somehow revived Zero. Like I said, that was Dr Light reviving X, Zero repaired himself. He even said so.
Isoc isn't wily, as much sense as it may make though.
And like I said, he only officially died once in the X series. Of course he was going to die eventually in the MMZ Series. Whether or not he died in reentry was left to the fans, as was stated in the official complete works.

@XeroTenjin93 So the fact that the Japanese manuals outright state that both Serges and Isoc both 'resemble a certain doctor', both Serges and Isoc both have intimate knowledge of Zero's body that nobody else has (Serges even built Zero's new body, it following the schematics shown in the ending of the Arcade games) and Inafune himself stating that Wily himself lives on through the Virus, let alone that Zero's self-repair functions shut down in X5, meaning he COULDN'T repair himself..

@Terralventhe ..none of these facts matter at all, not even the actual FACT that Capcom dislikes outright stating 'this character died' because a) it means they can't whore out the series a little more, and they don't like the idea of the series becoming 'too mature for kids'. It's why they changed X from being the main villain in the X series to it being a Copy X, and it's why they changed Zero's status from 'dead' to 'unknown'.
There's speculation, and then there's the blatantly obvious.

@LO0oLaminatedonut Zero isn't really dead in the ZX series. I think that the biometals Z and X are the souls of Zero and X. Also, in Advent there is a biometal model a which has the same copy ability as Axel which somewhat proves my point, but at the same time disprove itself since the biometal model A was created by the final boss of the game who I always forget the name of. If anyone finds any evidence that proves me wrong please post it.

huh, this in interesting.
While i like it, this confused me.
i thought MMZ started after MMX 5 where Zero Flew the space shuttle into the Colony that had ben massivly infected with the Sigma Viruswhich even though it still crashed it didn't do as much damage as it could of, and Zeros body went into a self Repair Cold stasis while taped in the wreckage of the Shuttle.
Which is where he was found.

@Gigaguy64 That's actually true. See, Ifaune who designed the games intended for MMX to end with MMX5, but production the MMZ started without his knowing, so they brought Zero back into the MMX and completed 6-8. This creates the paradox of parallel universes.

@ShadowMageEvelyn Actually, it was MMX6 that was created without inafune's knowledge, and the paradox, technically speaking, was rendered null by Inafune himself who declared all games after X5 to be non-canon. The rest of the games were simply fan service as far as Inafune himself is concerned.

Around X5 or X6 (same time around Zero 1-4 games) the series writer left Capcom and Capcom saw the X series as a money pit and butchered it all. This is the reason why we have the abomination known as ZX.

It was caused by the cyber elves and Omega. When the Dark Elf corrupted the reploids, the only way to deal with the war was to kill them until it was recaptured. Combine this with the fact that many reploids were using cyber elves to increase their powers and alter the real world, and you have chaotic mayhem on a grand scale.

The ending made me cry! After all their years together....all the battles they fought...w-why must X and Zero be seperated? I can't believe it....as many times as I watch it and play the games....it's hard to believe that such a close friendship....that everything...*sighs* never mind.

No. The X6 ending was meant for further down the line; it occured sometime after Command Mission. During the Elf Wars, Zero's mind is in a copied body. After the exile of Omega and Dr. Weil, Zero sealed himself once more.
92 years later, X sacrifices his body to the dark elf up in the Tree of Life, due to the energy shortage.
Ciel then creates Copy X, who for 8 years rules with an iron fist.
Ciel joins the resistance and they reactivate Zero in his new body, starting the Zero series.

Although the Axl's dialouge in CM suggests that it came first, the big obstical in that theory is that it is repeatily emphasized that CM takes place in 22XX, and X8 is still in 21XX.
One translation error, I could understand, but not a repeated error.

According to the Megaman Zero Official Complete Works timeline, Zero discovered he was spreading the virus and admitted himself to a research facility (this was the X6 ending I think).
While he was asleep Dr. Weil caused the elf wars and during the final year Zero's mind was in a copy body and he helped X end the war. He then decided to seal himself up for good after the elf wars, knowing that as long as he exists, blood will run.
