  • I'm not sure I understand your argument. A monitored home alarm system designed to protect your home and belongings runs about $30 per month or $360 per year. I have one and hope that it never gets put to the test. As for Guardly, I'll happily install the paid version of my daughter's phone.

    I hope she never has to send an alert but I'm a lot more comfortable letting her wander around Toronto on her own knowing that she can reach me and many others with 1-tap.

  • They're asking $100/year for an app that you're probably not going to have cause to use? Why would anyone renew? Besides, an emergency begins the second you don't have access to your phone.
