@pmaverick2112 Thank you. Actually, this is my least favorite video of mine. The performance is so-so and I had a lot of trouble with overdubbing the song due to some problem with the camcorder. I should do this again. I love this song.
Astrotama I have been playing for over 30 years and I really have enjoyed watching your videos: way to let it all hang out there when the rest of us don't, keep up the great work and really you are doing an amazing job with everything I have seen
Thank you! Actually, I'm not fully happy with the way I played this song on this video. I used to nail it better I think when I had the double bass kit, with a different tom setup. Or, maybe I'm just getting too old to play that fast tempo? :) Nahhh!!
Thanks! I had trouble with that song so I'm not totally happy with this video. I think I was playing it better 15 years ago when I had the double bass set up, with more toms in the front. Or maybe I was just younger... ? ;)
The end just rocks, you do the live version too! "First you need endurance, first you got to last"
I love the lyrics on that album...! I think, it is hard to say which Rush album is #1 but it think Power Windows is at the top, maybe Vapor Trails! Try playing Territories.....
Man. it just has to be hard to, lock in on this. It does sound pushed though...You are on top of things...at 2:00 it seems to lock, but the choruses are pushed..I am a player myself, bassist. Kenny Lee, no lie. I played with John Longlott, oh 15yrs ago at least. In his band Ayn Rand. He was a BIG Rush drummer too. Look him up.
I am 34 , been listening to Rush since I was 14 (hold your fire was 1st album I bought).when I was 24 I broke down and bought a pearl kit. been playing ten years and I must say I am so freaking jealous of your ability. you do Rush very proud. I am sure it took a lot of dedication to do what you do.
Good luck in which ever direction your drums take you.
Thank you! I really had trouble with this one and I'm not totally 100% happy with it. I used to play Marathon a lot 15 years ago on a double-bass kit (like the red Tamas) but for some reason I found it more difficult now on the current setup. Maybe I needed more practice. Oh well.
I know this video has been out here for a few years, but well done, Astro. Very difficult song to play and you covered it very well.

Dude.....A+. You ruled on this. Until you try to play something this complicated you don't realize how complicated it really is.

Really great song. My favorite from the 1985 Power Windows. But I also love Grand Designs and Territories from this same album.

Why are you wasting your time at your age playing RUSH covers, is there no talented artists in your area that could use your skills?
