The back side of the log house has double garden doors and we raised the unit to the second floor in a tractor bucket! If I hadn't been on the other side 'catching' the door I would have taken a vid - it was intense!
I'll try to take a few new videos before the snow starts flying in. The doors made a huge difference in the look of the log home. We've come a long way since the ones posted here.
Not sure what you mean about the big door header, but as for insulation...I'll share that in video coming soon.
We had a house fire, lost everything, and were under-insured which is why we had to rebuild a house ourselves. For the most part it has been just my husband and I with a few friends jumping in when they could. Winter is nearly here - husband is out of work - and our insurance money ran out a long time ago. We don't even have heat in yet. Insulation isn't happening this year sadly.
The big doors are already in and look great.

You need to re-evaluate your 2x6 header for your big door, and how do you plan on getting the recommended r-60 in your ceiling?
