  • How many jelly rolls does it take to make this friendship braid?

  • @kzursch I just used 1 jelly roll for this...

  • I saw this tutorial and the one on how to use the binding tool, so I ordered it and I got it so fast!!! I started cutting strips of fabric for a friendship quilt. I can not believe how fast a row goes together!! Jenny, your tutorials are great and keep me inspired. Thank you. P.S. This is my first full sized quilt. Mary

  • @rsr4me Awesome Mary!! I bet it turned out great!!

  • Hi Jenny you are awesome,i learn from you so much,i just would like to buy think from your shop,it is possible when i live in Australia ???we are behind in quilting,i love Jellyrollfabrics and many more quilting stufThank you so much,Miriam

  • @babamiriam We ship to Australia all the time!! Go to our website and order whatever fabric you need. You should have it as soon as we can get it to you! :) Thanks for watching!

  • Hi Jenny, I made a friendship braid using the binding tool but being a novice I didn't allaw for the bias in the pieces, consequently I wasted a lot of material ling the seams up. I hope this helps other novices such as myself especially if you or other viewers give instructions on how to avoid the problem.

  • DUDE - this so rocks!

  • @janlascko :)

  • the tutorial was a great big help to me, I was having a real difficult time trying to figure this out, then I thought "you tube". It helped to point out what I was doing wrong, thanks alot

  • these are soo much fun. I love Jenny Doan and the Missouri Quilt Co.,

  • These videos are so easy to follow.

  • I Jenny-- at 2:20 mins the video seems to stop. I have tried 3 times but refuses to continue!...marietta from brisbane!

  • I am trying to make this quilt and I am doing something wrong..my sides are not lining up after I sew them..HELP!!!

  • @thegypsy1968 you must have them lined up wrong...

  • Respond to this video... You must have the going the wrong direction

  • I just bought this tool...haven't even finished my quilt top yet! LOL...I need to buy the book took, because I cannot figure out how you sew these braids together...do you have a tutorial for this? Thanks love the videos!!!

  • I have ordered the binding tool, and I am very excited to try the friendship braid? Do you think putting the same corresponding fabrics on both sides would look nice, instead of alternating different fabrics?

  • What is the angle of the binding tool?

  • @321womble It is 45 degrees

  • I love your videos (except for the music, very annoying, over and over again. Hope you change it soon). I have learned so much from your videos. I love to watch them. I have only been quilting for a couple of months and it is very educational. Please keep them up !!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!

  • @keeziedm2 I absolutely ADORE the duck quack....and the music makes me smile!! Have a nice day!

  • Another great idea to use the binding tool. I purchased 10 of these tools for my colleagues at our sewing club here in the U.K. and you were so kind to mail them to us. We just love them, I will share this idea with the gals next time we meet. Fab videos keep them coming please

  • I always find your tutorials so very interesting and informative. Can you please let me know what kind of batting you use. The ones that I use here in the UK is very difficult to quilt. Many thanks and keep going with the tutorials.

  • @gypsy12sewing Hi to the UK! I use Hobbs 80/20 heirloom batting. I love it! it is 80 cotton, and 20 poly. Good luck and thanks for watching!

  • @gypsy12sewing we use hobbs 80/20 batting, we could probably pack some up and ship if you want, I need to try vacuum sealing :D

  • My name is Mike from LA Although there busizz4me.info

  • Jenny, just enjoy hearing about all the newest quilting ideas. You do a great job presenting!

  • another fantastic video! Your are SO clever! I find watching them fascinating. Thank you so much.

  • I know this sounds silly but how do you sew the braids together? That is how I learn best, by watching! I am a beginner at this..lol I absolutely love your tutorials!

  • wish i had i binding tool. :( cant order it as i live abroad. Anyway your tutorial was as good as always. thumbs up!!

  • What a great idea! I wish I had light bulb moments like you do. You are brilliant!!

  • how many jellyrolls would you use for a couch throw?

  • @amyboo178 One jelly roll would make a decent sized couch throw. If you sash in between the rows, it will be even bigger.

  • Having made braid quilt strips without a tool,I can say wow!, how much easier it would have been to use binding tool and have had the sides already trimmed up straight as you go. Another great video demo from Missouri Quilt Co. I have learned from every one watched and Jenny has given me a "can do " attitude i was lacking You gals make wanting to quilt a fun experience ! Thank you

  • This looks so much easier than the one I just worked on and a fabric saver! My next one will be with the template.

  • I love this tutorial. Can't wait to try it! I just finished making a quilt from your tube tutorial. It came out beautiful! Your directions are very clear, and I'm just a beginner!

    Thanks.

  • I just received the binding tool I ordered from MSQC and was so excited to use it to finish a quilt but instead I'm off to make yet another quilt top!!! Brilliant idea ladies. Thanks for the videos - they are great.

  • All your videos are great! Just finished my first quilt this June and I am addicted to quilting and your tutorials have been so helpful. Thank you so much!

  • What a wonderful pattern ~ now I'll just have to run over and get that binding tool!

  • Very cute. Love all of your tutorials!

  • Have been wanting to make the braid design, thought is was a difficult project til I watched this video----I can do that!

  • I love your tutorials. I wish you could make them faster. You have so many wonderful ideas. Do you have written insructions that someone could buy who doesn't have a great memory so they don't have to keep playing the tutorial over while trying to cut and/or sew.

  • What awesome ideas you have. Your videos are the best. Thank you once again.

  • I can hardly wait to try this. I bought the tool here after your tutorial. I like this much better than another pattern for a braid. Not as much waist. No cutting off the sides..so they should be straight! Thanks for another "light bulb" moment.

  • Oh wow. I cannot wait to try this. So much less waist than when I tried another braid pattern. And they will have even sides without measuring! Yeah rah. You have done it again!

  • Love this tip. Thank you again Jenny.

  • Now that is a GREAT idea! How awesom you have those light bulb moments! Thankd Jenny, keep up the great tutorials! We all love them! and for everyone else, just note, not all shops carry the binding tool that size, Jenny's is the nicer size and easier to use! buy it from the MSQC gals! everything ships for $5 ! Nice price !

  • i like that ...cool tutorial!

  • thanks Jenny ! I can't wait to make this quilt ! I'm working on the floral bouquet quilt from that book !

  • AWESOME IDEA! Thanks for the video.

  • I like having a tool with more than one use. Thank God for your light bulb moments.

  • very nice!!

  • This is wonderful!!! I love your light bulb moments, they are illuminating my quilt world.

  • I bought the binding tool from you guys and am so excited to find another use for it. I think I will make a friendship braid for my sister for Christmas. Thanks!!

  • you guys are awesome. thanks

  • Teeweed01, if you're talking about the Binding Tool, you can get it at our shop. The link to the product is in the description above. There is also a link for the Jelly Roll Quilts book.

  • where do you get that jelly role template i havent seen it in any local vegas fabric shops?

  • @TEEWEE01 The template is a binding tool available on line at Missouri Star quilt Co.

  • @jennydoan57 I went to that web site couldnt find any of the templates only found material and magazines.

  • Hey Lebleuange, I think sometimes when the videos first get uploaded they don't show in the best quality. Does it seem better now that it's been up for a few hours? If not, we'll make sure we're mindful of the focus in the future. Thanks for watching our videos - more good ones to come!

  • Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing how to make this!

  • I love seeing your store in the background of all your vids.

I would love to get inside your heads.

You are always coming up with out of the box ideas and love how your quilts come together.

Thanks for sharing all your hints and tips.

  • Awesome Tip... your videos are wonderful....I would've love for this one not to be so

    out of focus... :(
