this thing is utter garbage. bought one 4 days ago and couldn't return it to the store fast enough. Crashes mercilessly to the point where it wouldn't even turn on anymore. Navigation is slow. it's retarded expensive for what it boasts it can do. And by the time you buy the accessories and plug ins so it actually functions the way they claim, you would have bought 2 of these. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

The only problem with this i think is it has a Harddrive compared to flash drives which are more reliable  durable so durable in fact i dropped my 16GB pro duo off of a 4 story building onto concrete and it still works

but with a hard drive i'd be worried just running with it

No problems running with a HD player. Ive had my Ipod video 30gb for over 4 years and Ive done alot of sports with it, had it fall out of my coat inside pocket onto the pavement while playing and than have to kick it across the sidewalk and it still runs pretty good after 4 years of abuse.. sometimes I get a clicking noise when I unplug it from my computer for a couple seconds. Now just to find a good case for the archos 5, to go along with my inisibleshield from Zaggs.

I've had an HDD mp4 player and I didnt know they were that vulnerable, until I accidentally dropped it from like 2 feet and it had an HDD error.

The company said they couldnt help me 'cus it fell though.

I had it under a year and it was my b-day present from my parent xD

The Archos 7 is just the right size for surfing the Internet. Comparing it to the Ipod Touch I find the screen on the Ipod Touch to be too small. Even the Archos 5 is a little smallish but I believe the 7 inch screen on the Archos 7 to be just right. Also the new ARM processor is much faster at accessing web sites than the previous model.

the 605 will last 1 hour when fully charged but it takes 24 hours to charge it up, the new Archos mite be better

It does have a keyboard.

its an on screen keyboard and I get about 4 to 5 hours of full video watching on mine. I have listened to the audio for well over 10 hours at a time, never stopped when just doing audio.

after about 4 years you should have your battery changed. My ipod dont hold a charge to well lately either.
