  • Wow! With Will Heggie on bass. One of the most amazing bass players of all time. Never thought I'd see this. Fantastic!

  • I gotta look you up bufon63. I searched this vid because I have been fixated for the last week on the latest Sleigh Bells album. Female singer, two guitars with no bass, and drum machine. Check out this band - it's harder audio wise, but speaking as a 20 year long Cocteau fan...check them out.

  • Liz in this old video was so young and cute. Gorgeous songs, crazy and hallucinated, the TRUE GOTHWAVE

  • this is all W E nee d !

  • I love the cocteau twins to bits !!

  • Just so great!

  • cool hair Liz!! <3

  • Que linda se vé Liz.....que arreglos tan Góticos me encantan!!!! ese bajo, que bien logrado!!! calidad y creatividad en su máximo exponente!!!!

  • does anyone have the entire "alas dies laughing" performance?

  • Great footage. I remember this TV show with envy, Channel 4 didn't broadcast in my area (unless you lived on a hill - seriously!) until late 1983. And the minute we got C4 they stopped broadcasting progs like this with great line ups. Instead we got the over-rated Tube, which for every Cocteaus appearance there were 20X Paul Young,Tina Turner, King (remember them?) clips

  • Thanks for hosting, looks like Killing Jokes banners in the background at 2.35. Didnt know the Cocteaus supported them.

  • What a pearl!

    Thanx for posting.

  • In yer face!

  • Thanks for uploading rare diamonds like this. Elisabeth looks so beautiful !

  • utterly wonderful but boy not the greatest stage performers of all time! endearingly awful. Although in this one liz does move a bit.

  • Fantastic!

  • but alas dies laughing is incomplete...do you have the missing part?

  • gracias gracias gracias

  • Thanks for uploading restored quality of this early Brixton gig. Very valuable piece of post-punk history! And just listen to Will Heggie's bass! Excellent chorus distortion!

  • Elizabeth is fantastic in her madness!;)

  • Fraser's smile at Guthrie ar 2.33 means - "Who cares if the audience don't dance? We know this is fucking fantastic".

  • And so fucking brave. They were supporting Killing Joke, a goddamned hard act support in those days. Not a soul in the audience was moving and they gave the performance of their lives and blew KJ off stage. And this is coming from a (then) KJ nutcase.

  • Ahhhh fuck. Killing Joke, The Banshees, Dead Can Dance, Joy Division, Cocteau Twins. The early 80's when music, angst and artistic expression was fucking real and at its height. Tears to my eyes. This is M A G N I F I C E N T

  • @bufon63 dont forget the cure, the chameleons, the sound, the comsat angels ;)

  • I never tire of watching this appearance.

  • @rp61wasinnocentok Every time is the first time. M A G N I F I C E N T
