Hooray for next-gen lighting and shadows. 2 360's looks like a nice step up from this gen already with this demo. I wonder what the full 5 360's will look like.
@ThinkofUser Yes, Nintendo has been known for smooth games. I'm just saying that a tech site claimed this Zelda demo was running 720p with little AA. It was created in about a month's time with the underclocked kits, so it's plausible. We'll have to see in a few months what the console can truly do.

I know he's using it as a buzzword, but "cinematic" is a terrible adjective for advertisement. Games are supposed to be as interactive as possible as long as the story doesn't suffer from it, so the more it's like a movie the less it's like a game - and not worth the purchase.
@iTouchin There certainly are "movie games" like Heavy Rain or Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit, but generally storytelling through gameplay is what this medium is for.
@satan163 Nintendo uses proprietary API's, it can basically mirror DX11/OpenGL 4. DirectX is a Microsoft product so it wouldn't be smart for Nintendo to use it.
finally nintendo is using HD graphics and looking at this video the controller doesn't look so chunkey after all, I really want to see more of what the Wii U can actually do. I'm glad Sony is holding back with the PS4 (I'm not done with the PS3!) but the wii really needs an upgrade.

at 0:32 it shows a different shield thats not the hylian shield. like skyward sword, u gotta be late in the game to have the hylian shield. im assuming this is problabnly the first boss. imean, zelda games first bosses are usually big spiders just like queen gohma in oot.
So by real time they mean that its a pre-recorded gameplay (or what appear to be gameplay) that you can only change the camera angles and day/night setting. Impressive!

I have a feeling that this will turn out to be as high, perhaps a bit more than the wii sales. Now some game developers/publishers are interested in this console and how it works. That way Nintendo makes more money. WiiU graphics are gorgeous. We do not know if this is going to end up like the wii. But Nintendo games are pure gold.

If I wanted to see something realistic "Hey look it's my 3DS." bam, thats the best visuals you will get, real life. Miyamoto also agrees, he doesn't like realistic art styles because they don't age well. Look at TP, it looked good for its time now its just a mess and a bore to look at. Also something doesn't have to be realistic to be darker, case and point, Skyward Sword.

SS was originally supposed to use TP graphics but wouldnt have worked with 1:1 motion controls which is why they exaggerated features (which SS also already uses heavily realistic graphics).And TP a bore to look at now? Maybe for you, I still think it looks great. As long as the artwork is great then itll never age badly. Like OoT or MM, or even a game like Super Metroid
@zzyzx0788 TP's art style bored me for one simple fact. I'VE SEEN REALISTIC VISUALS SO MANY OTHER TIMES THAT IT'S GETTING STALE. The texture were crap and the characters were so emotionless. In Sword they used 3D models instead of 2D images like they did in TP. Also Skyward Sword gave the characters so much more life, Link didn't look like he was just standing there you could tell when he was mad or sad or happy, in TP you couldn't. Also the controls were the best for any Zelda game.

Plus they very smartly contrasted the black of the twilight realm with alot of bright neon colors on objects and creatures. You may not of liked it but it definitely had a style. Why not have more cellshaded games or more impressionistic styles like Skyward Sword, Team Fortress 2 got it right, cartoony visuals and still a very fun game to play. Realistic styles are taking over gaming and quite frankly I find that wrong. Games are meant to take you away from reality not put you back in. There need to be more cartoony games like there was on the N64 like Conkers Bad Furday etc.
@AshXXMayftw I agree with trying different styles, which is something Nintendo has always been great at with Zelda games, but even when they did do realistic-ish styles like the 64 games or TP, they still had a unique artstyle to it. All I'm saying is if you're going to put a new zelda game into HD finally it would be wonderful to see it a realistic more darker setting like MM or TP. I think everyone's been wondering what Twilight Princess could have looked like in HD

Very nice graphics but my question still is... Wheres the game play they promised all i saw was a movie rolling along and they touch like 3different things.... That disappoints me when i really want this to be good but they haven't shown much to convince me.
@FairGamer13 Expect a *ton* of gameplay this E3 or possibly a month or two before. It is pretty disappointing we haven't seen anything, but I have no doubt that Ninty is planning a huge E3 this year.
@TwoSkoopsOfNinja I wouldn't say a ton they showed the same games they showed at E3 pretty much. The graphics again look good "as a movie thing with Twilight Princess color style" but they just showed the Wii games with your Mii's which isn't very exciting.

I understand your logic in the casuals not wanting to adopt it, but I don't understand why you think the console is going to be overpriced. The controller isn't even thinking on its own, it's just a screen that's streaming what the console is telling it to. It doesn't have a CPU, so it'll hardly be more expensive than a regular controller.

I know he's using it as a buzzword, but "cinematic" is a terrible adjective for advertisement. Games are supposed to be as interactive as possible as long as the story doesn't suffer from it, so the more it's like a movie the less it's like a game - and not worth the purchase.

@satan163 Nintendo uses proprietary API's, it can basically mirror DX11/OpenGL 4. DirectX is a Microsoft product so it wouldn't be smart for Nintendo to use it.

@nejisdeath Right, and thank you for pointing that out. I do agree that Sony and Nintendo had the best year in games and selling also. My point is that because Nintendo is focusing more on gameplay, some publishers/developers, are interested on the console, that way making exclusive games and Nintendo just keeps winning the money, and lets not forget the sales of this console, huge sales. Just clearing it out to some asshole. But thank you for the reminder of the Sony sales though. Cheers.

@BLACKoppsSKILS You do realize that Nintendo is focusing more on the gameplay and handling, not that much on the graphics. You see, it's all about the money. I have a feeling that this will turn out to be as high, perhaps a bit more than the wii sales. Now some game developers/publishers are interested in this console and how it works. That way Nintendo makes more money. WiiU graphics are gorgeous. We do not know if this is going to end up like the wii. But Nintendo games are pure gold.

@AshXXMayftw Miyamoto didn't stop using realistic graphics because they're boring, he just likes to switch it up. SS was originally supposed to use TP graphics but wouldnt have worked with 1:1 motion controls which is why they exaggerated features (which SS also already uses heavily realistic graphics).And TP a bore to look at now? Maybe for you, I still think it looks great. As long as the artwork is great then itll never age badly. Like OoT or MM, or even a game like Super Metroid

@zzyzx0788 TP's art style bored me for one simple fact. I'VE SEEN REALISTIC VISUALS SO MANY OTHER TIMES THAT IT'S GETTING STALE. The texture were crap and the characters were so emotionless. In Sword they used 3D models instead of 2D images like they did in TP. Also Skyward Sword gave the characters so much more life, Link didn't look like he was just standing there you could tell when he was mad or sad or happy, in TP you couldn't. Also the controls were the best for any Zelda game.

@AshXXMayftw But thats the point though, even Twilight Princess didn't go full out looking as realistic as possible, and even if it was darker in color it still definitely had its own style with kind of a mix of dark shading and a darkish-yellow hue to alot of things. Plus they very smartly contrasted the black of the twilight realm with alot of bright neon colors on objects and creatures. You may not of liked it but it definitely had a style. Why not have more cellshaded games or more impressionistic styles like Skyward Sword, Team Fortress 2 got it right, cartoony visuals and still a very fun game to play. Realistic styles are taking over gaming and quite frankly I find that wrong. Games are meant to take you away from reality not put you back in. There need to be more cartoony games like there was on the N64 like Conkers Bad Furday etc.

I understand your logic in the casuals not wanting to adopt it, but I don't understand why you think the console is going to be overpriced. The controller isn't even thinking on its own, it's just a screen that's streaming what the console is telling it to. It doesn't have a CPU, so it'll hardly be more expensive than a regular controller.
