  • Ah, that closing shot of her holding hands with her date in the twilight - always seemed romantic to me as a child. Still does.

  • I LOVE the film of the old tube TV complete with vertical hold issues. Takes me back to that era, indeed.

  • @chitownhowie - Yes, it does seem authentic for the era, doesn't it? Thanks for watching!

  • Ted Knight comic legend

  • I like the OLD GM bus passing by in the last scene. That old bus symbolizes a simple time and a different era.

  • the closing theme always made me cry as a kid

  • Omg.

THATS TED BESSELL FROM THAT GIRL.

    AWHH.

I CANT WAIT TILL SEASON SIX.

WELL I AM EXCITED ON SEASON 5.

    COMING OUT IN OCT.

I JUST LOVE MARY TYLER MOORE :D

  • Yes, the late Ted Bessell played Mary's boyfriend for a few episodes during season the early part of season 6 (Fall 1975). He finished That Girl in 1971 only a few years earlier. He was on the short-lived "Me and the Chimp" in 1972.

  • He was the closest Mary Richards ever came to having a regular boyfriend.
