The Rapid Clearance Gap on this project is 2 tenths above the service of the wood, so by going 2 hundrents below the surface would not interfer with the movement over the surface. You can set the Rapid clearance to what ever distance you need to let the tool clear when making rapid clearance movies.

Wouldnt moving the tool geometry like that cause the tool tip not to clear the material during a reposition move??
