Algenti. Algenti significa "agghiacciate". Si può fare una ricerca veloce in rete per capirne di più. Comunque formalmente è algenTI, non algenDI. A meno che non vi interessino le altre lingue. E brava Cecilia, al solito.
Cecylia is phenomenal (for me the best artist for Porpora) and technically perfect but I prefer Christofellis's interpretation despite of his "falsetto" mode. There is to much effort and nervousness, aggressiveness, tension. Christofellis sings lightly, without effort, in the same tempo but he seems to be much more faster (illusion).
@SkateNater Thanks for being less-than-sycophantic here. Bartoli totally lacks a legato technique, every note is given an extra "push" to emphasize the rhythm (maybe to make the music more palatable to "modern" ears used to the incessant beat of niggerish jazz and pop music?!). The orchestra also plays with absolutely silly, overdone dynamics that destroy the floating lines of the music in favour of spitting out marcato noises. Bartoli's high notes are forced and an ugly tremolo creeps in.
anyone who dares to question her talent must be deaf... outstanding quality and a personality to fall in love with ... a true artist in heart en voice,,
@SkateNater THIS IS HATING AT ITS BEST LETS HEAR YOU SING IT LOLOL STOP HATING OBVIOUSLY SHE'S DOING SOMETHING RIGHT TO BE THE SECOND HIGHEST PAID CLASSICAL ARTIST AND BE THE HIGHEST CLASSICAL RECORDING ARTIST TO SELL CD'S NEXT TO PAVAROTTI STOP HATING AND LEARN WHAT REAL TALENT IS...THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A MANUFACTURED VOICE ONLY A WELL TRAINED VOICE WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT SHE HAS!!! BRAVO CECELIA KEEP TAKING MUSIC TO NEW HEIGHTS AND IGNORE THESE HATER'S
This song gives me tears almost every time I listen to it. For me it's some sort of meditating, I don't understand the lyrics (and don't want to), just let the vibrations enter my body, brain and soul... and it feels good every time I let it happen.
This is absolute master work. Hope Cecilia will do more of Vivaldi's work. Maybe redo it with a larger or smaller orchestra. And since her voice develops as well, it would hurt to have another recording of these songs :)
@SkateNater You must be kidding... I've never seen a musician like her. such expression and beautiful sound combined with a true sense for the content of the pieces. Plus the coloraturas which are unique in her technique
We can all learn a lot from this singer's artistry - Mega Brava, Cecilia !
