But the bike is perfect... after drz400sm my bike will hopefully be ktm 690smc! :) KTM do make very good bikes, especially the new generation... without any faults!

iam curious . i have owned jap and italian and ridden bmw's and such and i feel that jap bikes take the most abuse and keep ticking . the italians are fast i own a D16 RR . but they need more servicing than most.

the german bikes feel as they are going to blow at redline . i just dont like the feel ...

has KTm ever competed in moto Gp ?? or even WSB for that matter . i know not in gp.

and everyone knows v twins are outdated .

v twins would have to rev too high and have way to big a piston to have proper combustion charecteristics.

4 cylinders are the best to race now within the regs . the rc211v was the beast v- 5 from honda that spanked everything in its path. and that would be my weapon of choice but .

ducati use v twins in superbike . those based off production models.

in racing prototype they are outdated

I have an RC8, RSV4, Monster, Ducati 998, Kawi Z1900, KZ 1000. The Ktm is the most comfortable, The RSV4 has a motor thats just unbeleivable. BTW, the Akra is overpriced. Go for the FMF for the RC8
