Crysis Warhead - Behold the Power of the Shotgun

A real shotgun is effective about 30 meters which is about 33 yards or 100 ft. But it depends also the type of shotgun and the ammo you use but that is the effective range of basic shotgun with basic ammo.

Oh Slackdaddy if you are warming up to the shotgun then you might like it in Crysis 2. Reason, you can put a silencer on it. :D

I wish more video game shotguns had a range like that. Realistically, a shotgun blast would still be doing serious damage up to about 100 feet, but most video game shotguns stop doing damage all together well before that.

@lankygit101 Game shotguns have been like that since Doom. It was a bit jarring but refreshing when I noticed the Crysis shotgun actually behaved more realistically. I mean, I don't mind the Halo-like ones, where the pellets turn into tissue paper after 3-4 metres, but this was much more satisfying. It's a hunting weapon, after all, and who the hell hunts at arm's length from his target?

@Senyako Yeah, when I posted that comment I was thinking specifically about the halo shotgun.

- Kills any enemy outright at point blank range.

- Kills the weakest enemies at about 15 feet.

- Is about as damaging as a refreshing spring breeze after 20 feet.

I'd say the shotgun in Crysis Warhead is a great weapon..considering from mid range at 4:02 you cut down a tree.....!!! I may not have been a big one but it went through the guy and cut down a tree. Who needs chainsaws and gasoline to cut down trees when you got Majorslack and a shotgun.

Shotguns have always been my #1 weapon choice in any game weather it sucks or not. :)

I'm more of the stealth type too. Thing is, after I beat a game once or twice (or simply consider myself mastered it) I like to go completely batshit insane and play completely opposite my usual style.

In short: that shotgun looks to be a blast!

Most games get shotguns horribly wrong, Crysis actually does a pretty great Job. Other games its 15 feet or closer to make a kill. Total BS

i dont have crysis 2 but ive played the multiplayer demo and I fucked everyone with the sniper rifle with a silencer and either hallo sight or sniper rifle sight on some boxes with stealth and it rocks

Well Slack you'll be pleased to know... actually I shouldn't spoil the experience for you. I'll say this much: Crysis 2 allows you to be just as strategic and full of finesse w/o *needing* maximum stealthing or even worse... stealth whoring. I really think it's something that the game isn't given enough credit for if more people than myself even consider it at all! Back to the video, I don't know what was sweeter: the power of the ripper or this! In any case, it's a sweet send off to my break!
