@Prophint well it's a good thing i wrote and played all the parts in both the song and the film. never played bass before, so I'm glad that was the only thing you liked. personally, i think the slowly developed lyrics about hacking apart someone with a knife and burying them are the best part, but take what you like. i am both the murderer and the victim in the montage. i thought that was interesting too.
@thesurrationalone I love the concept, but the execution was bad. Im not trying to hate on you, i like your stuff, but its something about the video work and the flow of the lyrics that made it bad. Its like you gave a b movie maker a camera that was too good, and made it high quality, it just ends up looking cheesy. and the vocals were too quiet. turn that up, put some cool editing on the video, maybe some sepia/blackandwhite, with work, itd be awesome.
@Prophint You're onto something. But I don't think it's the mix. What I did was give a low-quality camera to a second-time camera holder, and use a different filter for each level of time/consciousness. Agreed, it looks fairly much like everything else I was making back then. What do they call that shit again? "Art" or something?
@katanabarnett He is. I am. Fortunately, my dreams are of much more social benefit than his murderous fantasies. To each his own, I guess. But, yes, this brings new meaning to "I'd kill for a..." and "I'm dying for a..." (well, let's not give it away)

Fantastic directing, and Julian is quite good too. The end made me laugh a bunch.

Such sexy vowels, as aways! I'm lovin' the dark windy atmospheric sound. "I creep myself out."
Tech question -- what did you use to make the 'animation' shots?
queenofcrows 1 year ago
@queenofcrows There is a filter called "edge detection" in Moviemaker which gives an animated feel. Fun, eh? Murder ballads for a rainy day...
