I really hope Capcom doesn't let dust collect on Mega Man, whether classic Mega Man or Legends Mega Man. There is SOOOO much untapped potential in both series, as well as the X series!

The only thing I can assume is that maybe they didn't think it would sell well or something like that. There are rumors that the reason he left is because he was driven out, just like all of the other talented people who used to work at Capcom, such as the head of the now defunct Clover Studios. The Execs didn't like them, drove them out, and then closed on all their projects.
Here's hoping they don't shoot of Cease and Desist orders to fan creations like Square-Enix did when Chrono Trigger was getting revamped independently.
Capcom Europe confirmed that they and Capcom US were opposed to the cancellation. Capcom Japan cancelled it because there wasn't enough support. Maybe in Japan there wasn't, but the rest of the world was hyping this to no end.
Capcom, you cancel ML3, then you rub it in our faces by announcing a new ML3 themes map for UMvsC3 and putting tron in the gameplay video for the two new characters.

He dreamed for this game, left, they were still continuing to make it, but then decided to throw it at all the fans and Inafune's face. Keiji Inafune, is the mind behind some of my most favorite games. Seeing THAT smile on his face made my day. And it makes me sad to know that he won't be taking part in the full development of the game he wanted to make for so long. Capcom really screwed the pooch, but Inafune's team knows what they are doing, and I bet they are going to work as hard as they can to make this game a fantastic experience that will do Inafune's Name Justice!
MML1 was available for the N64 and PS1 --- MML2 was a Sony exclusive and the huge majority of megaman fans own a Nintendo, not a Sony console - so making the move to sell for 3DS would give it huge sales, and 3DS is in HD even though it has a low resolution only because it doesn't need a high res for a small device...
I think is was a bad idea of Capcom let them make the game just for Nintendo 3DS, as well-know, Megaman Legends ins't that popular like X or somenthin' like that, so it would be better if they make a version for PS3/Xbox, at least Wii, so Megaman can gain more popularity. That doesnt mean that I don't like the idea of a new game, 'cause I love Legends series, it just passed on my mind.
@DaniellKun You've got that backwards. Capcom can't afford to risk more money (much more money) developing a game that's proven to be a poor seller in the past on an HD system. Putting it on the 3DS allows them to raise the popularity of the series without risking the high development costs of a console game. Also remember that, in Japan, handheld gaming is much more popular than console gaming, and this is something that Capcom is well aware of.
already bought a 3ds...the best system I have ever purchased (hardware alone, not considering games), let alone handheld. can't wait to play this game in it's glorious and brilliant 3d epicness! :D

I do not plan on buying a 3DS to play Legends 3. They could have done some online release on the Playstation Network, that would have saved money on stuff like packaging and shipments.

Not even a PSP release? I mean, I'm glad it's getting made but it's sad it had to turn out like this. Being the poor bastard that I am, I can't shell out the cash for a 3DS and a new game. If this was on PSP, it would've made my damn year.
It's a shame that Megaman Legends 3 won't make it to the consoles... but oh well, I guess that's what happens when a console game doesn't get successful at first, it gets ported to portables.
@henriquebio Probably because he couldn't take the stress of a MEGA whiny fan-base that constantly fights over which Mega Man spin-off or alternate series is truly quality, without consideration of the fact that it's a good series which deserved to grow, just like almost every other game series starting from the 80s (ex: Mario, Castlevania, Metroid, Zelda). Now all we get is an mmo that's pretty much just Mega Man 2, AGAIN, and the long-awaited MvC3 not even having Mega Man in it! Damn it all...

Megaman will NEVER be on Xbox. PS3 might be pushing it a little (and I have a PS3). I honestly believe MML3 isn't going to be like most of the other shitty looking DS games. There's a reason why the 3DS is marked at $250. It'll be worth it, and I can't wait to pick this game up when it drops!

Hope they don't modify the gameplay drastically, or the cut scenes, the top notch voice acting style and humor that defined the series almost 10 years ago...

There are rumors that the reason he left is because he was driven out, just like all of the other talented people who used to work at Capcom, such as the head of the now defunct Clover Studios. The Execs didn't like them, drove them out, and then closed on all their projects.
Here's hoping they don't shoot of Cease and Desist orders to fan creations like Square-Enix did when Chrono Trigger was getting revamped independently.

Capcom Europe confirmed that they and Capcom US were opposed to the cancellation. Capcom Japan cancelled it because there wasn't enough support. Maybe in Japan there wasn't, but the rest of the world was hyping this to no end.

@Psquit ive played fallout 2 and its hard as fuck i cant kill a guy with a shotgun point blank the battle engine is annoying ans the scenary is generic and hard to navigate the story and npcs are the only plus because i cant get very far in the game so ive given up but never had that problem in 3 or new vegas so i prefer 3 and new vegas because their not stupidly hard

Keiji Inafune, is the mind behind some of my most favorite games. Seeing THAT smile on his face made my day. And it makes me sad to know that he won't be taking part in the full development of the game he wanted to make for so long. Capcom really screwed the pooch, but Inafune's team knows what they are doing, and I bet they are going to work as hard as they can to make this game a fantastic experience that will do Inafune's Name Justice!

MML1 was available for the N64 and PS1 --- MML2 was a Sony exclusive and the huge majority of megaman fans own a Nintendo, not a Sony console - so making the move to sell for 3DS would give it huge sales, and 3DS is in HD even though it has a low resolution only because it doesn't need a high res for a small device...

I think is was a bad idea of Capcom let them make the game just for Nintendo 3DS, as well-know, Megaman Legends ins't that popular like X or somenthin' like that, so it would be better if they make a version for PS3/Xbox, at least Wii, so Megaman can gain more popularity. That doesnt mean that I don't like the idea of a new game, 'cause I love Legends series, it just passed on my mind.

@DaniellKun You've got that backwards. Capcom can't afford to risk more money (much more money) developing a game that's proven to be a poor seller in the past on an HD system. Putting it on the 3DS allows them to raise the popularity of the series without risking the high development costs of a console game. Also remember that, in Japan, handheld gaming is much more popular than console gaming, and this is something that Capcom is well aware of.

MMLegends 1 & 2 release on a Playstation Conosle / MMLegends 3 releasing on a Nintendo $250 3D Handheld.
I do not plan on buying a 3DS to play Legends 3. They could have done some online release on the Playstation Network, that would have saved money on stuff like packaging and shipments.

@henriquebio Probably because he couldn't take the stress of a MEGA whiny fan-base that constantly fights over which Mega Man spin-off or alternate series is truly quality, without consideration of the fact that it's a good series which deserved to grow, just like almost every other game series starting from the 80s (ex: Mario, Castlevania, Metroid, Zelda). Now all we get is an mmo that's pretty much just Mega Man 2, AGAIN, and the long-awaited MvC3 not even having Mega Man in it! Damn it all...

Megaman will NEVER be on Xbox. PS3 might be pushing it a little (and I have a PS3). I honestly believe MML3 isn't going to be like most of the other shitty looking DS games. There's a reason why the 3DS is marked at $250. It'll be worth it, and I can't wait to pick this game up when it drops!
