  • Howcome granada stuck their ident on a TYNE TEES production?

  • It was recorded on Granada. The whole practice of having the ident of the station that produced the programme before the programme itself got the boot in the late 80s; if it was aired a few years earlier, it way well have been preceded by a Tyne Tees ident.

  • Never a cross word...!

  • This theme sounds like a Simon Etchell theme.

  • Correct birdy100.

  • This is from October 1996.

  • Hi AddersP

Thanks for uploading Crosswits one of my favourite game shows from the 1990's.

Are you going upload anymore game shows from the 1990's like an episode from either Crosswits itself from the mid 1990's or Chain Letters with Ted Robbins?

  • This intro was from 1997...

  • Crosswits began in 1985 as a weekly programme shown at 3.00 on a Tuesday afternoon for the first 2 series and was originally hosted by Barry Cryer then in 1987 it became a daily programme and Tom O Connor became the host.

  • Remember this from daytime TV during my school hols!!!

  • this was the best titles sequence i think.

  • They mentioned it was on at 7pm at the start there, but I remember this being on in the mornings usually when I was off school sick...Is this right or was I more ill than I thought and holucinated the whole thing??

  • no it was catchphrase which was on at 7pm he said!!

and yes i also remember this!! when off school sick!! haha

  • Ahh...My mistake! Cheers for the heads up!

  • When was this title sequence of Crosswits first shown?

  • This title sequence was introduced in 1994 but this episode is from 1996 as you can see they had changed the set after years of using the same one.

  • Thanks allenjeremy that was very kind of you to answer my question on when was this Crosswits first shown cheers!

  • its a shame they can't even produce this show, since Tyne Tees are nothing more then a news operation now.

  • Yes harshsmit I found it hard how ITV have reduced Tyne Tees from being a company that used to make some great shows like Crosswits Chain Letters and others to being as you say nothing more than a news operation nowadays.

Yes I do agree with your comment.

  • Hi AddersP

is there any going to be anymore uploading episodes of Crosswits from the year 1994-1998?

  • AddersP I know what year this Crosswits clip is from it is either 1996 or 1998?

  • can't wait to see crosswits.

  • Crosswits my second favourite all-time game show hosted by the brilliant Tom O'Connor well done Addersp look forward to seeing more from you.

  • as you have a new machine, any sign of these gameshow clips ?

  • any sign of a nev VCR, can't wait to see the half episode of crosswits.

  • I'll try and get the other clips done when I can find a working VCR - I dropped my current one when carrying it down the stairs.

  • any sign of these game show clips ?

  • These titles were introduced in 1994 or 1995-ish. The original music was a lot better though.

  • i hope so, any other game show clips by the way?

  • I have half an episode - I'll try and put it up by the end of this week
