Noam, I really don't see what you see in mankind. You speak nothing but the truth. Basically everything you say is 100% truth, and you say it in words which even the dumbest people can understand. And, as far as I can tell, you sincerely believe that what you and liberal intellectuals like you say will make a difference. The "bewildered herd" cannot and will not be tamed. The ignorant proles of this world don't want to understand or even try to. I don't see how you can have hope for them.
@kingofqwerty I guess you can say that there are glimmers of hope every now and then, but in general, the little localized communities of oppressed people in the world don't win. They are usually crushed and forgotten.
Capitalism the wage slavery of immense humanity in a politically manipulated,tyrannical MARKET SYSTEM OF ARTIFICIAL SCARCITY to perpetuate poverty and exploitation in the interest of the owning/ruling class. Capitalism is the organised,legalised robbery of the working class in a sysytm of monetary web of suupression and control.

I like listening to Chomsky's views. But some of you people follow him like a god who spews only truth. I also like the military channel. And sometimes I think to myself, who gives a fuck if he is right. because someone has to run shit here on earth. It may as well be the united states. We deserve it.
The idea of America is not going anywhere. Irrational people or not. It works. We just need to make some adjustments. The World needs us and Europe to influence it's affairs and we will not be resigning anytime soon. Perhaps you would prefer Saudi Arabia and China as the worlds parents instead...I heard they are strict.
liberty and freedom is surely a continous way. US is surely better than 50 years ago and hopefully will be better in the next decades. But the issue is that people dont know about the major issues. Unless they know the problems how can they start fixing them?
Of course not! China and Arabia is not the only alternative.. He doesnt think US should stop controlling the world. All he argues is that there has to be major reforms otherwise not only people of .. (next comment)
He's got a couple good points about how corporations try to get laws passed that make competition from small businesses almost impossible.. But the global warming/big bang/evolution denial & pro-life -ness of Ron Paul just isn't something I could put up with for 4 more years
those, and abortion, are the 'topics' that candidates are allowed to debate at great length and receive immense analysis from the media. In any reasonable society they'd be confined to a carnival sideshow, but in the US they're what whole elections hinge on.
And the reason is obvious: they dont discuss other topics and issues because all candidates policies are largely the same.
I'm pretty sure anyone who's ever heard a speech by a third party candidate or met someone who votes third party knows that... But just because abortion is a wedge issue doesn't mean that it's less important than States rights, decentralization, & other Paul issues, at least not to me.
One day the state will be gone and then we will live in true freedom where us workers own our own means of production and the state itself is eliminated.

why do you deserve it? why do you think you are any better than people from other countries?
Is it because American public are the most irrational people among all the developed countries?!

I would probably listen more if he didn't sound like a bore. He could try to animate his speech. Boring.

Does it bother anybody else that Noam will reveal some facts that are rather horrible , then the audience giggles? Or is it just me.

It is called irony. It makes people laugh.

@thatguy19832002
because it's humorous when juxtaposed with the diet of propaganda that comes from the New York Times and Washington Post and CNN.
