not perfect at all he just played the solo over the original song with volum off listent to the original and youll understand not jalous but nobody sound exacly like gilmor plus look at 0:21 he bends E nots at 0:22 the note does a good vibrato like on the record but his finger dont do any kind of vibrato if your a good player youll noticed FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone who has seen his website should go to see Nothing else matters lesson, he has covered every nook and corner, absolutely amazing!! No one teaches the guitar of the verse NEM, he covered it exactly as it is, its the most difficult part of the whole song..what James is playing (Kirk is playing Chords at this time). and you should see NEM lesson 6 Live part...it's wow .

I don't have a strat... and have never had one. That will be my next guitar. PS Someone said this needs to play on strat... that's a personal preference. It's the guitarist... not the guitar;) Great job by the way.

Fingerings are right on. Check Gilmour in his Live 8 and solo sessions on YT. Probably the major diff is he Floyd a Fender a bit overdriven (even in the Waters sessions) and this one uses what looks like a LesPaul. The difference is only electronics.

Because David Gilmour is a prolific Fender user and is known for his pristine, sparkling and glorious strat tone. The solo in "Money" or the song "Marooned" are some great examples.

Playing Pink Floyd solos on a les paul would be like playing SRV songs on a BC Rich Warlock through a Krank amp :S

the solo in money was actually not played on a strat, but i know what you are saying. still, it does not matter, someone can play what they want, on whatever they want. it's not like someone has to own a separate guitar for everytime they want to play something by someone else. He's not showing you how to try and sound just like Gilmour, he's showing you how to play this solo, which is exactly the same on any guitar you would pick up, so why would it matter?

Exactly. If we all played for a crowd of these ridiculously picky guitar tech geeks no one would enjoy music anymore. Most of them are so caught up in effects and emulating perfect tones with different guitars, that it just seems to be an excuse to make up for their lack of rythym and inability to really play well.

His solo sounds fine and it's dead on.

His solo is not "dead on", as he doesn't have a good vibrato. Gilmour's vibrato is crucial to his playing style, and anyone giving a lesson on how to play a Gilmour solo should also put emphasis on Gilmour's touch.

It's great that he's posting all these videos, but I wish he'd pay more attention to his bending and vibrato, especially for these slower solos.

And please, people, read what I wrote before giving me 'thumbs down'. It's constructive criticism.

Get more control over your vibrato and it will be near perfect. You should easily be able to count the number of times you vibrate the string. Slow control, not quick twitching.
