not perfect at all he just played the solo over the original song with volum off listent to the original and youll understand not jalous but nobody sound exacly like gilmor plus look at 0:21 he bends E nots at 0:22 the note does a good vibrato like on the record but his finger dont do any kind of vibrato if your a good player youll noticed FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Jr72 no stupid. he plays it OVER the backing track. you hear two guitars obviously. if you were actually listened to the solo, you would know that. and he kinda screws up at the end. and the tone, it is different then it was on the wall when Gilmour played right? duh. think before you say things.
@Jr72 you're a moron. either get a better computer or go back to listening to katie perry. he doesn't even sound close to the original recording. you can hear both guitars, PLAINLY!!!! (wouldn't kill you to work on your english, as well :p )
Anyone who has seen his website should go to see Nothing else matters lesson, he has covered every nook and corner, absolutely amazing!! No one teaches the guitar of the verse NEM, he covered it exactly as it is, its the most difficult part of the whole song..what James is playing (Kirk is playing Chords at this time). and you should see NEM lesson 6 Live part...it's wow .
Marcos dude, would you cover comfortable numb solo part 2.You are very very talented!!!! lol
Marcos dude, you are very very good.I know cause I have seen and learned from your nothing else matters and this solo as well. You are clean and genius kind seen you right till every note..forget about smart people saying change this change that, they don't know how to hold a guitar.Plus some genius commented this has to be played on a "Strat", wow what a amazing insight!!.Whole world knows it.If you don't have a "Strat" what you do, wait for 5 years to get a it and play only then??lol marcos
Great playing. i agree that the bends and vibratos are a little shaky at best, but its better then i can do so ill shut up about that. Liked the multiple views, but started going crosseyed.....,.
i have learned guitar from farhat....guys believe me...this is not fake....i can play as same as farhat is playing...he is an awesome guitar teacher....thanx to floyd who has given us such a amazing song to us
This solo is right, trust me. It's the first solo not the second. I know my floyd solos and have been playing this for years. This guy is exactly right with the tab books and the record. Shouldn't be hard to tell that.
cool... thanks! I like different views too. Thanks again. I have a Gibson as well... a 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard. My favorite guitar I have, by far! Although... I don't have a strat... and have never had one. That will be my next guitar. PS Someone said this needs to play on strat... that's a personal preference. It's the guitarist... not the guitar;) Great job by the way.
I just learned how to play this using software to slow down the music. Its nice to see it on vid to validate what my ear picked up. And nice job BTW but the tone is not so good.
Fingerings are right on. Check Gilmour in his Live 8 and solo sessions on YT. Probably the major diff is he Floyd a Fender a bit overdriven (even in the Waters sessions) and this one uses what looks like a LesPaul. The difference is only electronics.
Because David Gilmour is a prolific Fender user and is known for his pristine, sparkling and glorious strat tone. The solo in "Money" or the song "Marooned" are some great examples.
Playing Pink Floyd solos on a les paul would be like playing SRV songs on a BC Rich Warlock through a Krank amp :S
the solo in money was actually not played on a strat, but i know what you are saying. still, it does not matter, someone can play what they want, on whatever they want. it's not like someone has to own a separate guitar for everytime they want to play something by someone else. He's not showing you how to try and sound just like Gilmour, he's showing you how to play this solo, which is exactly the same on any guitar you would pick up, so why would it matter?
Exactly. If we all played for a crowd of these ridiculously picky guitar tech geeks no one would enjoy music anymore. Most of them are so caught up in effects and emulating perfect tones with different guitars, that it just seems to be an excuse to make up for their lack of rythym and inability to really play well.
His solo sounds fine and it's dead on.
Give me Blind Willie Johnson digging an old crappy wooden parlor guitar with a bottle over these tech geeks any day.
true, but i have a sense of rhythm and an ability to play but i'm still pretty picky about tone, that's the reason that they make different guitars under one brand
His solo is not "dead on", as he doesn't have a good vibrato. Gilmour's vibrato is crucial to his playing style, and anyone giving a lesson on how to play a Gilmour solo should also put emphasis on Gilmour's touch.
It's great that he's posting all these videos, but I wish he'd pay more attention to his bending and vibrato, especially for these slower solos.
And please, people, read what I wrote before giving me 'thumbs down'. It's constructive criticism.

The problem here is that the dude that is playing the guitar forgot to connect it to the amp because all you can hear the CD, the guy is not even playing
Gilmour no sabía leer musica, en el documental de Remember that night lo dice bien claro: recién aprendió a leer música ahora (2006) para ayudarle a su hijo a aprender saxo.
Get more control over your vibrato and it will be near perfect. You should easily be able to count the number of times you vibrate the string. Slow control, not quick twitching.
