wait so i can stream skyrim from my laptop (Intel core i3 2.4Ghz with 4G ram and i3 M370 Hd graphics) onto my PS3 and enjoy PS3 graphics instead of everything on low?
basically does it go like this?:
my laptop: laggy on lowest settings
streaming into my PS3: able to enjoy maxed out (depending on internet speed)
@siggyguy No, it simply allows the server (the PC/Laptop running the game) to stream the content to a different device (your PS3). It uses the hardware on the server for the grunty work meaning you can have a crappy computer running crysis or skyrim or something running on it over ethernet or wireless.
gettin it now. If you have a home server or render farm (i do), this is great because every laptop in my house can play only gta sa at a laggy framerate.
I'm not impressed, you can't play a shooter with that much lag. You should put the graphics lower because it's almost unplayable on you computer, it's even worse on you computer. Maybe if you use wires it will be faster.

Were you using 802.11g (54Mbit) in this demo? Does it give better frame rates on faster networks such as 802.11n or Ethernet 100/1000?

eddrush1976 3 years ago 4
could be the network is to slow.. or the computer rendering it doesnt like it.. try lowering the settings frist..

@eddrush1976
you need considerate amount of CPU processing power to encode the video over stream :)
If you only have single core like I do, the video will lag
