thanks, do you know what format I should compress to to get the best quality for youtube or just in general

it totally depends on what your camera setup is when you shoot. ie 4:3 or 16:9. frame rate 30p, 24p etc. ideally you want to compress in 16:9 apple 422 res HQ but you have to shoot it in 720p or 1080i. basically match the compression with what you shot it native
