  • I'm just sorry Ronnie had to sing these lyrics...

  • what the crap did I just listen to???

  • @riverlover1 lol

  • This is my brother from Boys High School in Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn. One of my best memories after graduating in 1968.

  • One of the greatest voices I have ever heard!!!

  • This song has the power of putting me on top of the world. It is very powerful

and presented in such a nice way.It brings back so many good memories.

    Thank you Ronnie Dyson!!!

    Floyd Bell--Albion,Mi

  • OMG this song brings me so many beautiful memories from the 70's, wish I could go back. I loved all the one hit wonders from that era

  • Does anyone know what month in 1970 this gem was released?

  • @tootsiesdad I believe this was released in July of that year. I sang this everyday.

  • This man, bless his beloved soul, is blissfully awesome songmaster. Noone can touch him. A hidden treasure. He did great covers as well.

  • this brother could sing not like the crap off today

  • @poohji80 I agree and I'm an old white lady! :)

  • Sooooooo smooth! Great song and wonderful voice.

  • !!oooooooooo!!

  • Died too young, and much too early in his musical career due to heart failure. He was only 40.years of age. A real loss to us all, but he left a few fine hits behind, especially this song.

  • Thanks for posting. I love this song!!!! Love his voice!!!!!

  • I can't figure out WHY..WHY...WHY are there posts referring to politics, taxes, and the government ... on this page??? Its a freakin song!!! Ronnie Dyson did a really nice job performing this song!!! This isn't a CNN page , or a FOX News Page... So BEAT IT !!! And take your political opinions with you !!!

  • @jennykennypants Agree 100%, If they want to rant about politics, get a twitter account and head off to CNN; Back to the song; Beautiful Song!!!, Not only that but it came out in the middle of one of the most Awesome summers in my life (August, 1970).

  • @jennykennypants thanks for saying what I've been feeling for months! lol Much Respect!!!!

  • I have always loved this song - you never hear it played anywhere anymore :(

  • I found it on Sirius XM's 70's station where it's in fairly regular rotation, along with a lot of other great old songs time has forgotten...I more or less live for 70's pop music and now with "70's channels" it's a beautiful 70's summer day EVERY day. Which I guess means right NOW (technology age) ain't so bad either! :)

  • @monkynmee57 thanks for the info - I have Sirius SM & will tune into the 70's along with my favorites - the 60's :)

  • tragic loss this man was something else, miss him

  • love this song it bring back alot of good memories.

  • @TubeNumber1USA he is in a similar situation to our government. the opposition just says NO to everything. they block at every chance. they would rather the country fail just to get back in to govern rather that to agree on good policy. your country is failing because no rich people there want to pay taxes. . . . and they don't. consequently there is no money for policies. same here. meanwhile, great song.

  • gone to soon

  • R.I.P MR.RONNIE DYESON !

  • great to hear this song.

  • Love this song and plenty of memories 1970's.

  • Herman Cain 2012!!!!

  • @TubeNumber1USA I thank you meet that Bush is the worst president. No body like bush killing all those men and woman for a war that never should have happen. He got his money where is your? White folks don't people like you!!!!!!!!

  • Hey All did this come out in 67 or 68 if i am wrong please tell me what year brings me good memories of my grandfather Thx all ! RIP TOE.

  • @BUDDIESII Came Out In 1970

  • What an awesome voice! May you rest in peace.

  • Where are the singers of today, the male vocalist? Pull up a chair and listen to Perfection! Back when this was recorded, all you had was your God given talent,no auto-tune to enhance what little"talent"you may posess. LISTEN!!!!

  • i have tears in my eyes listening to this record. and i'm not easily moved.

  • what was the movie this song was in?

  • thank you soo much for this!!!!

  • I love this song so much. Reminds me of very happy times.

  • Summer school and this tune got me through..

  • something about this song.....really turns me on!!!!...the first time I heard it on the radion I was in my early twenties....it still has the same effect on me today.....

  • those were the days when song were song,u and ur lady and a glass of wine and the rest is history.

  • I remember this song back in 1977..I was a high school senior! I've always loved this song! Thanks for posting because it's hard to find anywhere else and it can't be downloaded on any of the music sites!

  • This is Priceless!!! they dont made music like this anymore

  • I love him he introduced me to soul in 1971 as a child

  • R.I.P Ronnie Dyson gone but not forgotten.

  • Whenever I want to feel ur spirit mom I play this song

  • And no offense to fans of JB. I don't hate his music. Just don 't think he did anything to set him apart to other music acts that made him deserve induction. Just my honest opinion.

  • Always thought he didn't get the credit he deserved when he was alive but seems to now in death. In my mind he should be inducted in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Why not? If Jackson Brown is, Ronnie Dyson is more than qualified!

  • Dyson has a beautiful, melodic voice.

  • Great Song!

  • sublime!

  • i love this song .my dad played it ,when it came out,i still have it on 8-track

  • thank you for this post......OMG the MEMORIES !!!!!

  • @stevend130 The Summer of 1970 was Priceless, Wasnt it.

  • Oh my heart stopfor moment with saddness when I read he passed on!!!!! My twin and I love this song when we were younger and still love it!!!!!!!! The songs YouTube, are songs that I hadnot heard of in so long I thought for everyone just forgot the songs!!!!!!!!! Thank so for bring this and many other treasured songs back to us!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for remembering a classic artist that many people didn't appreciate until their demise.

  • One violin bridge reminds me of This Magic Moment by the Drifters. Another bridge reminds me of Summer Rain by Johnny Rivers.

  • @gsnfan I love the marimba in this song.

  • so true !!!!

  • The 60's and 70's was a great era for popular music and this song right here is THE MOST UNDERRATED SONG FROM THAT ERA, the arrangement is perfect and Ronnie Dyson flatout kills it!!

I know this song topped out at #8 in 1970, but its a hundred times better than thousands of records that made it to #1

  • I unfortunately do know the feeling of loving someone who dose'nt share

the same feelings towards you. I would'nt wish that feeling upon anyone.

  • RONNIE DYSON DIED IN 1990 R.I.P.

  • Great song it is not only dealing with the physical but also the emotional

in this this case the emotional is is of essence

  • Great song

  • An all time fave! I remember him being in the original cast of "Hair" on Broadway! Such a beautiful voice. Good post!

  • I think his song is saying that he is having sex with a woman who doesn't love him!

Sometimes that can be very hurtful!

  • Thanks...great memories

  • Thank you so very much!! takes me home, straight home wow!

  • I love this sing. It reminds me of my mother and others who were part of my growing up but passed on. It puts me in another world

  • Something made me want to hear this song again, I remembered the nice melody from my childhood days, I am so glad someone placed it out here, this guy was very talented, didn't know of his passing at such a young age, so very sorry to hear this

  • look like dukie from the wire

  • Beautiful song, Ronnie Dyson didn't get his just do but I always liked him, I remember my sister had his album back in the early 70's.

  • Ronnie Dyson was a prelude to Philip Bailey - - I SO loved this and "She's Gone" by him. Now I have to go listen to that song, too! I used to wonder to what heights he would have soared in R&B had he lived.

Thanks for the walk down Memory Lane!

  • Gorgeous song. It's sad that he died so young and never achieved the stardom that he deserved.

  • @prettygreeneyed1 Well said. For some reason this song has been on my mind. I actually have it on a 45rpm!

  • @bldudleyful Hold on to that 45 rpm, it is a collector's item

  • This song is one of the greats and just didn't get the recognition it deserved. Ronnie Dyson had a magnificent voice. When he died I don't think it was even announced on the radio or television. How sad.

  • A real loss to the music industry. Ronnie Dyson died at age 40 in Philadelphia, Pa. He was only 20 years old when he recorded this song.

  • His voice deepened sometime after this...listen to this and "One Man Band" side by side...

  • Ronnie Dyson did not receive his just due. He was fantastic. Why can we not simply enjoy the music, why bring politics into this.// Obama is one man with an assisting staff. He is doing no worse than other presidents before him. Do not forget what George Bush left him to clean up and/or rebuild upon. Not much! The economy is picking up. President Obama is doing a great job!!!!

  • a simpler time for sure--1970--but not all good: vietnam, campus unrest, inner city terrorism

  • Love it......Takes me back to my first visit to Miami, Florida, from Los Angeles in 1970......A much richer United States of America back then.......No terrorists and no

one spoke about economic problems......We are now screwed........And Obama is

    already screwing us even more.........

  • @sierracuban i'm not strung out on obama. but let's be realistice. president obama did not start the fire....it's been burning from 400 years of prez before him who set up a system that they could malign and benefit from. maybe prez obama is trying to correct a system that others capitalized on at expense to others.

  • @venumzgurl nothing to do with ronnie dyson? stop hatin'

  • @sierracuban Obama is a good man please blame the Tea party ant the Republican he is trying his best, and you know what all because he is black , that the reason whythe are giving him a fight you have a good day or night.

  • I love this song, why can't we buy this on i-tunes

  • @agapeluv3 I was looking for it on Rhapsody and they did'nt have it. I first heard this song in my mom's brand new 1970 impala. It was on the radio very often. This is a forgotten oldie because some radio stations don't have it. I wonder who is playing the marimba in this song? Sadly, Ronnie Dyson died 20 years later after the songs release. The cause of his death was heart failure, but the contributing factors to this day are unknown. Some suspect drugs or his diet.
