After all of these years, Fire Down Under is still one of my favorites. Guy Speranza was a monster vocalist! I liked the weird album art too. I wouldn't change any of it!
God Bless you for posting this Album ,This band was SO underrated ,This band like someone said here ,Thee best Hard raock band for there time ,wow brings back some good ass memories :FEEL THE SAME "
this album was one of the first albums i ever bought, british steel was the first, then number of the beast and then fire down under.and i`m still banging my fuckin head 31yrs later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i CAN TBELIEVE HOW GOOD THIS RECORD STILL SOUNDS, I HAVE BEEN PLAYING MUSIC FOR THIRTY YEARS NOW AND I USE TO CRANK THIS UP JUST LIKE THE REST OF YOU GUYS, AND YOU ARE ALL RIGHT, PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT GREAT MUSIC IS COMPARED TO THIS STUFF. FIRE DOWN UNDER IS UP THERE WITH HEAVEN AND HELL, NUMBER OF THE BEAST, ANIMAL MAGNETISM AND A BUNCH OF OTHERS OF THAT TIME....GREAT PRODUCTION...GREAT SOUND
All the guys in this band are probably pennyless, ...................a total injustice when utter shit such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, U2, etc are making millions !!
@8quart Well, well a fellow follower, thanks for feeling the same way as I do! This band is one of the best I can remember. Grew up listening to their music. Can we all take a time capsule back in time??? Wish I could!!!
@yourunclehank1 ..you nailed it,there are so many bands that didn`t get what they deserved...just goes to show that not everyone REALLY listens to music, they just hear the overused, repeated phrases!!!
I still have the original vinyl copy I bought over thirty years ago. Its a little beat up, but it still plays. It doesnt sound dated at all . Its still cool
This whole album kicked serious ass in early 80's and still does today! I remember I used to tell people about Riot and how good this album was...and they all would say.."you mean Quiet Riot?" That used to piss me off..I'd say "NO" I said Riot ! Damn...I hated Quiet Riot!
wo i wish i saw riot live. schenker is a classicly traind expert on the guitar for sure !!!! sorry im typing in the darl half drunk off tequilla and cant see shit.lol
I know a lot of people wonder why they're underated and underground, and say they don't have the recognition they deserve. But I like to think that those of us who found Riot and heard their music... We're as real as it gets when it comes to the rockers, the fans, the real people. We work overtime for tickets, and pull all the favors to see the shows. That restless breed. We're all a big rock & roll family.
I want you to know that my friends and I were staunch Riot fans during the quick run that they had. We were in Lousiana! I am sure that we were the only ones who knew how great these guys were!
I agree with you trouble... Those of us who have loved Riot and other bands who only have a "small" army of fans - are true rock fans! But I must say I HATE it when I mention Riot and someone says...." oh yeah, they sing that song "Come on Feel the Noise" uggggggg
Dunce huh? I guess you need to go back and read my comment. I am saying that I love Riot, and hate when assholes think that the great band Riot, is the lame band, Quite Riot. Get it?
@removetube I know what you mean. I listen to this cd everyday, just to get my blood moving!!! Its the whole package, from crunching riffs to soft melodies. I love this album!!
@removetube NO DOUBT. I had a band we covered a lot of good bands, three songs from this album alone. Radio was /is/and will always be controlled by the labels and their interests. Great album right here.
Dude I saw that tour too! I thought UFO rocked with Paul Chapman on Guitar? No Place to Run is on of my favorite UFO songs. You remember how Rainbow dropped the back drop on the song Straight between the eyes?
You are right my man. And if you remember Guy Speranza grabbed my girlie mag from the front row and told us all how much he was missing some of that ! Yeah I know I was young but he seemed a man of the world. Dead now - and only a few years older than all of us. Don't be fooled into thiniking that the bewigged Mark was Riot - any doubt just check out those songwriting credits. And talk to people who were there.Nuff Said.

Riot has been one of my favorite bands since high school days in the 70's. Almost an unknown band on the west coast back then, I had the opportunity to see them live with Rhett Forrester on vocals at the "Keystone Palo Alto" One of the best shows I've ever seen. Even the band was stunned by the powerful audience reception. Having said that, the Guy Speranza era was the best, and "Fire Down Under" was their best album in my opinion. Great music and great times!
