I'm 58, have had two bypass operationsand still hope to learn to jibe. Up to now I can thunder along planing in harnees. Too late? Hope not. Any suggestions for the ideal spot to achieve my dream in 2 weeks? All suggestions gratefully received...right on the beach + guaranteed wind and reasonably flat water.

@novadrian Hey man, I'm also 58, and just getting back into windsurfing locally in the SW of England. I might get over to Poole harbour one day, apparently it's often really flat there. But a lot colder than Portugal!

Few years ago, in Jericoacoara, I knew a 82 year windsurfer. He cant support being without his daily dosis of 1 hour sailing, no matter the waves DESPITE THE KNOTS ! ( within the regular limits , obviously). Everybody had a lot of respect to him , and to his family. If you go to Jeri, ask about him.
