  • Thanks for giving great tutorials to such obscure (or less well-known) songs by radiohead!!! u da bauss

  • ''ok im just going to show u what happened just there''... haha

  • Warren how did you learn to sing along to this? Because I find it near impossible with the strumming pattern! Is it just practice or do you have a trick up your sleeve?

  • wow this is awesome, it sounds exactly like the original :)

  • Cheers for the lesson man! Peace and Nooodles from Down Under.

  • great stuff man. it helped me lots.

  • I always played the final chord as an Ab. Sounded okay to my ear but then I was playing largely from memory.

  • I wish i was you! :-| xx Just Awesome x

  • Does anyone know how the strum goes? I can't hear him say it while he's playing

  • @dogback5

    warren just says: DU_UD__U_UD - 1+(2)+3(+4)+(5)+6

but i think this is not the full measure, as the end differs

if I'm not wrong sometimes he adds _U_U - (7)+(8)+ and sometimes _UDU - (7)+8+

also have a hard time figuring it out, as my talent for rythm is not my best feature, but it's very rewarding when i finally got it.

  • @TheDrSchneck I dont get this part of what you were trying to explain? 1+(2)+3(+4)+(5)+6

  • the melodic movement sounds great...but it deep-sixed my brain and my fingers hate me for it :(

  • Im a girl so and yes i have a very tiny hands so i cant play this fucking beautiful song u_u

  • Dude you are an amazing teacher! Do you thing you can teach high and dry for me?

  • Warren you are amazing. You should start a music tuition business, or start a website where people pay to see your lessons online etc.

  • Ausumn lesson...helped me a lot.....thanks man

  • Faved this vid ..... I cant figure the chord at 3:14 sec ... Is that a C/F mix ?

  • Thanks for this, Warren. Could you please post the rhythmic vocalization for the strumming?

  • Yay the Fadd2 business was all i was missing :)

  • You are my savior! Thanks for posting all the great tutorials.

  • love this song!! Check out my (nice dream) cover if ya like :) You are a great teacher too :)

    Peace!

    -Cam From Canada :)

  • yea can you help us with the strum pattern

  • I have small hands, and for the A flat add 2 I do 46X546, which is pretty doable and easier in my opinion

  • man i do love this song you are grate thanks!!!!!!!!

  • Great video, but you kind of gloss over the strum pattern which is often the most important part of a tutorial. I still can't quite get it.

  • amazing...thanks!

  • nice tutorial. easy to get it into!

  • lol.. all thom's favorite chords..

  • @Stofzuigertreflip ha yeah, thought of that too. lol

  • nice tutorial bro, very easy to get in the song !!!!

  • brilllll ,love the song, and u teach so well.

  • apesar de não falar inglês eu entendi tudo!!!

  • Does anyone know where I can get a diagram of the chord he does after am? I keep trying to look at his hands but it dosent sound right. Help me anyone!

  • @MsCalmbeforethestorm That's what this tutorial is for. Listen for the chord shape, I'll spell it out in detail.

  • @MsCalmbeforethestorm Ha if youre talking about the Ab add 2 chord I had trouble with it too. Its hard to explain it with words but Youre gunna need your thumb on the 4rth fret and ring finger on the 6th fret D string

middle finger 5th fret G string next finger on the 4th fret b string and pinky on the 6th fret high E and there she is! Dont forget to mute the a string! :) I love this song..hope you rock it

  • @DoseofDopamine Cheers dude :) .......You seriously saved my bacon on this one!

  • thanks

  • such a great tutorial...thanks for helping me out..been trying to find a decent tutorial for months and so frustrated that i can't play this song but now, thanks to you, i'm able to play it..thanks a lot...

  • love your lessons! could you possibly do "Fog", cant find a lesson for it anywhere x

  • dude, do you have like EVERY Radiohead song covered? daaang!

  • i didnt get the a#add2 chord.... :(

  • @imnotliving Just keep trying. Go really slow, just keep practicing from the Am. Don't lift your index finger from the Am, just slide up and bring your middle finger to the G string and you should be in good position to make the shape.

  • @pmac24

hey thanks, but i dont get it. lol. can you make a picture of it?

  • @imnotliving

Ok let me give this another shot, I'm presuming you just can't identify what strings he's fretting.

The A minor (01220x) is the chord before you switch to the A#add2 (645x6x) In that chord, your thumb mutes the low E string, your ring finger frets the 6th on the A string but also mutes the D string, so keep your finger flat. Your middle finger frets the 5th of the G string, your index finger frets the 4th on the B string, and your pinky frets the sixth on the high E.

    Try that.

  • @pmac24 I would list the numbers in reverse, but I guess to each his own. And it's an Abadd2, without muting the 6th string (otherwise it wouldn't be an Abadd2, it would then be an Abadd2/Eb) - 4x6546 or 46x546 are both acceptable since Thom uses both.

  • @warrenmusic I'm a bit dyslexic when listing strings, you're right, I wrote it backwards.

I did realize it wasn't an A#, I just didn't want to confuse imnotliving anymore. Thank you for your corrections, turns out I was playing that chord the way I read it in a tab a little bit ago.

  • @pmac24

And of course, I've found the proper way now to be quite a bit more difficult than the way I was playing it, haha.

  • Your saying the build of the chords too fast for me to hear, otherwise great!

  • Hay warren! Cool video as usual... music theory question? Where does the G# come from in C Major Scale?? Peace

  • @mobilitywestmidlands It isn't in the C Major scale. Good observation. Most would probably call it a temporary modulation... and I would probably refer to it as an Ab chord, not a G#. Half-steps Ab and Eb and Gb in the Abmaj9 chord make for a wonderful transition back to C and even that one time they go to F in the end, regardless of the key.

  • useful tutorial, figured it out on ukulele :D

  • Quiet similar to How To Disappear, except that capo on the 2nd fret.

  • Warren! Would you please be more specific on strumming pattern please?

  • tabs pleaseeee :)

  • you'll probably think i'm stupid but im really confused with the strumming pattern, i know you say it in the video but dunno if i'm just hearing things wrong do u say "DU UD U D, DU UD UUD" ?

  • please hear my cover at my space / inivan

  • do u have a homepage with your tabs???

  • @rucine No, I don't use/write tabs, I do everything by ear/what I see them playing on YouTube videos.

  • @warrenmusic it would be useful though :)

  • hello hen, you no when doing the melodic movement, in the latitiude one Thom does he goes from AM to gsus,, i think and then c-f etc do you do the melodic movement on the gsus???

  • @ceridawn Little confused by your comment, but the melodic movement happens on a bunch of the chords the LAST time through the song, not on all of the song.

  • i can't mute the 4th string.. T_T

  • excelente los videos!! mejor tutorial de radiohead....and a great profesor...gracias from chile. keep goin´and i keep learnin´.

  • THx....it's help alots = )

  • thx a lot!!!! love this song..

  • This is a great video. Nice tutorial.

But I'm having a few problems in "finding" the correct strum pattern. Any help? Thx in advance.

  • does any 1 else wanna fuk dan

  • thank you dude, it was very helpful.

  • You're probably my favorite teacher ;).

  • you're awesome.

  • best radiohead teacher!

  • Great lesson.

  • Warren, your videos are extremely helpful to me and have rekindled my passion for playing guitar. I have been practicing Reckoner and this and it's so much fun. If I'm going to play acoustic, I might as well play Radiohead. Thank you sir.

  • thx thx a lot werren im from korea and i can't listen english but your simple english tutorial so so useful omg thx lot's

ps.month ago i try to play gagging order tutorial i coud't know(yes im newbie) how to stoke use (use midle finger and ring finger? i try figure out to stare your left hand but i cant see it)but i may be this song wil be done till last step

  • because true luv wait song look more eaiser

  • and your 'newbie views' radiohead guitar guide is so great

  • hey, i have a question. could you give me the beats in the chorus? Starts with four beats of C...which of the F and Emin gets only 2 beats, or half a measure? the one that changes 'quickly'? thanks

  • it changes from F to Em on the "&" of 3 if you count 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

    It's 2 1/2 beats of F and 1 1/2 beats of Em

  • thanks a lot, warren. You play the song really well, by the way. Good luck with your lessons :)

  • thx! great playing

  • è una parrucca?

  • damn man i like your style !

  • Excellent ! You do really great job. You sound really good and your explaination are really clear !

    Keep going on Warren.

    Cheers from France.

    drumspirit

  • Awesome! Thank you so much! All of the tabs I could find were confusing. The way you teach makes this song very easy to learn.

  • my favourite song, Thanks

  • You nothing is understood

returns to do the video or speak good!!!

  • I cant get the melody pattern right, I do 3 3 3 1 0 0, maybe i'm doing wrong the strum parttern

  • I love this song and had to learn it so thank you so much for the great tutorial!!!

  • Learnt your tutorial love it but i found the 4x6546 chord a bit dif to how thom plays it. I think he plays 46x546 check it out and tell me if im right lol x

  • I actually show both versions, and while you are correct that he is using 46x546, the other shape is very common in other Radiohead songs. It's still the same chord with a slightly different voicing.

  • wasnt complaining or anything i love your video tutorials x iv learnt them all

  • @warrenmusic

When Thom plays this at latitude 2009 he plays with 4x6546, which in my opinion is the easiest of the two. So you are sot on there warren. Thanks for teaching me this by the way. After watching the video and a lot of practice i can play this beautiful song.

  • @zaynab100 Cool. I prefer to use 46x546 now just because sometimes I hear Thom sliding that 5th string 6th fret down to the 3rd fret (Cmaj). Same chord either way.

  • where can find the original chords for fake plastic dude

  • WARREN PLEEEEEEEZ HELP!

First I just want to let you know that I love and appreciate all of your vids. However, If you read through the comments you will notice lots of confusion regarding the strumming pattern. Please help us out and let us know the strumming pattern you are using. I know that you say it in the video, but It is not clear. Thank you for all you do. I am almost there but can't get the strumming pattern right.

  • master....thanks a lot!!!

  • If I didn't get it wrong, the strumming pattern is DUDUDDUUD

  • Comment removed

  • ahhh oh my god thank you so much.

i love this song but all the tabs everywhere else are shit.

you make a great guitar teacher :o

  • I love this, but what is the strum pattern I can't get it.

  • your tutorials are incredibly handy

i beg you to keep on posting vids!

  • nice dream cover please.....

  • OMG, this guy is THE BEST radiohead guitar tutorials maker in the world, thanks!!!

  • im addicted to your vids man!!!

    keep it up!!!!

    so much help!

  • Love all your tutorials just one problem, they are pretty low in volume. Other than that keep it up!

  • you're amazing, man!

  • great!

    thanks man:)

  • Thank you very much. It's a beautiful song and you're a great teacher.

  • By the way, didn't mention this before (when I was telling off that catseatingclouds kid) but thanks a lot for posting this! I was having trouble getting the chorus right (the E-minor mostly) and this was a tremendous help.

  • Thanks.

  • perfect. thank you very much for your tutorial. spot on!

  • fuckgin great men you rocked all the way through loved it!!

  • has nick had any offers yet..?

  • okay, so the strumming goes-- DU DUDU DU UDUUD? it's kinda hard to follow that part

  • I think he said down down down up down, something like that

  • that's definitely not it though...

because you strum down without the first finger, then strum back up with the first finger.

from that point on...im not sure. i just play random crap that sounds close, but definitely not exactly, the real thing.

  • this is kinda the way i feel about it.. you get to a certain point in playing genrally where you just have to listen and interpret you own style upon it... as far as i can make out its a hammer on off, you can do it o the up or down stroke with your pinky. im sure Thom changes all the time !

  • Good job. Thank you very much. I really like this song and you're pretty good at teaching in a way that's fairly easy to follow and learn. Keep it up.

  • what on earth is the strumming pattern?

  • Thanks so much for this!

  • catseatingclouds, what the fuck is wrong with people like you?

    FUCK YOU.

i hope you die a slow painful death.

  • hmmmm.....oh yeah...I'd like to personally see to your anus being remodelled cat boy. See you on the outside fuck face

  • ten bucks says this kid doesn't even play guitar (well) and lives life on his computer as a troll.

  • Hahahahaha.

  • not referring to the guitarist on screen, obviously.

  • You've just lost your ten bucks.

  • What, you know catseatingclouds? Because he doesn't have any videos showing that he can play, he just has a bunch of racist comments on WarrenMusic's videos. I can't lose my ten bucks until I see a video of catseatingclouds playing the guitar.

You may have simply misread my statement.

  • I think I have misread it, my apologes.

It looked to me like your statement was referring to Warren himself.

  • Nah, it's cool, I can see how easily it could be misread.

Obviously Warren is a good guitar player, I loved this tutorial.

  • I'm a beginner... ^^

but your tutorial is veryyy helpful specially (down/up ;))

    I'll try the others sooon

    Thx a lOOOt!

  • hah! down up up down.. up up down

Helps a lot, it was my problem lol

  • is down up updown up up down ???

  • You're so cool! Thanks a lot :)

  • Awesome man. Thanks for another really helpful tutorial.

Any chances of a 2+2=5 lesson?

  • Great video.

But, the A flat chord plays better (And this is the way Thom plays it) as

    4 (thumb)

    6 (ring finger)

    x

    5 (middle)

    4 (index)

    6 (pinky)

  • yeah your chord is spot on. i mention it with a different fingering at 2:11, so we're on the same page. different voicing is all, both are Ab Major chords with a 9th.

  • eyy man nice vid but can u post the chords on description? would be very handy, u know the x-3-2-x or somethng like that =p

  • Thank you good man!

  • Thankyou so much for showing this!

oh man im so incapable i cant even play A Flat Add 2 either way you showed, is there any simpler chord I can substitute?

but anyway great work you're a great teacher!

  • Agreed, that chord is a toughie!

    Great tutorial.

  • Warren, awesome work as always...I'm sure a lot of folk are hooked on your vids now (I for one am..) Cheers mate!

  • HEy man, Great tutorial, but I dont quite get the rythm. I always get mixed up with the sixteenth notes, and octaves and stuff. Could you please make a video about that? or just wirte the notes on the comments or something?

    Anyway, most appreciated!

    Thanks!

  • thx for keeping up the great work !

  • I know its not part of the in rainbows album but i think you should do paranoid android next!

  • neither this nor gagging order were on in rainbows, either. i think he is doing songs that are fully playable on acoustic guitar, which paranoid android really isn't. not all of it at least. you lose alot just doing the acoustic on that song.

  • yeeeeeeeeee THX!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ive never posted on a video yet, yet alone any of yours, But thanks for all your videos, especially this one. Had some idea how to play it, but once watching this it just clicked. Much appreciated, your doing good things

  • awesome as usual!

  • I work at Best Buy too! What store is he from?

  • Also, do you know how Thom does the C harmonic on that chord? I think it may be done by lightly touching at the 6th fret on the D string (when you fret the 6th fret on the A string with your 3rd finger and it hangs down to mute it, it would lightly touch it, thus). I think it's there... you'd be more of a guitar theory person than I am. But it's like impossible to do. I can't figure out how he plays the harmonic so loud.

  • I believe the A-flat chord is x46x546. 3rd finger or the A string instead of the D string. Hard to discern, but I think this might be the case.

  • careful your seven string guitar doesn't trip you up!! lol jk, but yeah, it's perfectly fine the way you do it, but for sure, thom is using the chord i'm using (he loves muting the a with the thumb, check paranoid android and others)

  • Lol, I made a mistake. I meant 46x546. So you're sure it's 4x6546? I once did that. Then I switched it because I thought it was wrong. Silly me. Now I have to switch back. It's easier to do 4x6546 anyway.

  • I remember when I watched the cover you posted I begged and whined for a tutorial XD this is deffinatly one of my favorites of Thom's accoustics thank you so so So much for posting it!! =D

  • thanks. great tutorial.

  • YEEEEEEEAAHH!

  • thanks so much!!

  • warren ur just the best! ur yellow videos are da best on da planet! keep makin luv! yeah babe!!!

  • I think you're the best man !

    Keep on !

  • warren you are a legend, keep them coming man 5/5

  • thanks again waaaaaaaaarren

  • fantastic, thank you v much
