John Lewis TV Advert Never Knowingly Undersold 2011

[1987LOZ1987]

John Lewis' "Never knowingly undersold" promise is complete rubbish. Recently I applied for a price match and was refused as the shop selling the item was "too far away from me" (even though their terms and conditions don't mention distance). Not only are they aware of over 5 competitors who are cheaper than them for this item but they recently INCREASED their price. John Lewis is a complete rip off and I will never waste my time with their "price match" again. Ironically I love this advert...

can someone please explain this advert to me? it makes little sense, nor does it seem to be making any point in particular. the timeline is all screwed up, jumping from the 80s to the 70s then back up to the 80s, and then present time. it's all fur coat and no knickers if you ask me.

I like the advert,seeing te different eras. The first one though you'd be mistaken to think it was the 50's,but actually its 1984 during The Smiths era. Yes you had guys dressing like that.It went from that into the Bros era of 1987.Fashions change quite quickly.And don't forget the mullet hair do's were fashionable too.:-)
