Ike Everly (father of the Everly Brothers) composed this song along with his two brothers. It seems that the brothers had composed an instrumental combining bluegrass and ragtime called "That's The Mood I'm In." Due to their lack of knowledge of the business side of music, they never copyright it. Later it was altered a bit and became a hit for Glen Miller as "In The Mood" under another writers name

Had to convince Record Label to let him do this song....sure glad he did! Charted 9/21/59 peaked at no.4 19 weeks on Billboard chart. Bring back memories of "Classics Weekend" during my DJ Days!
late 50's , a factory in Surry Hills Sydney Australia , my first job , the world was beautiful , and this terrific rocking tune to remember it all . many thanks
Thanks for posting this song. I was about 10 years old when this was out - and would go buck wild when this song came on the radio, and dance with door knobs when it was played on AmericanBandstand. LOL!
