You're right. Korean Air is also the most dengerous airline in the world. But when I flew this airline serveral times, I felt no fear and have a wonderful flight. Furthermore, recently they bought A380, the world's biggest passenger plane. The upper deck becomes all business class! Presently they fly to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok and New York.
Not exactly. According to international aviation rules, unless the runways are physcially damaged in which case the airports will be closed, airports usually will leave it to the airlines to decide whether or not to land their flights. The job of an airport is to give accurate latest weather info and the airlines make the decisions to land or abort.
I flew with CAL for around 20 legs past few years and I'm still here seeing this video on Youtube!
