  • dude look like sugar ray...

  • Although I can't stand the present day Punchy James Toney, he is a legend in the sport and there is no denying his skills. One of the best counter punchers ever. He and Mccallum put on some great shows, two of the slickest. Thanks for this great vid =:0)

  • 2 of the best!!!

  • Sheer brilliance particularly in the first fight - even Marvin Hagler commentating was impressed.

  • 2 great fighters going head to head in their prime - what a treat!

  • Their Trilogy should be study by every wanna be inside fighter body puncher and tactians of the sport they gave us 36 rounds of old schooling... for free....

  • Mccallum is the best ring technician i have ever seen. His technique is as perfect as you can gt, so crafty. Even into his 30's he gave a great fighter like Toney as good as he got.

  • James in his day was brilliant. I remember watching this one way back..

  • james got robbed on the first one even if you watch the whole thing it's obvious

  • James Toney future hall of famer and a true legend.

  • Toney won that first fight by the highlights. But then again the highlights may be a little biased!

  • MIKE WAS WELL IN IS 30S IN THIS FIGHT THE BODYSNATCHER VS B HOP MIKE WOULDVE WHOOPED HIS ASS

  • @MrLeebo123 Even when Roy Jones fought the Body Snatcher.....Jones had much respect for him. I don't know if it was more a thing of.....Mike was old & Jones did not want to hurt/humiliate him out of respect, but the fight looked more like a sparring sessions & even the commentators said the Jones was giving too much respect. Anyway, in his day....Mike was amazing.

  • Damn, James skills were a thing of beauty. Floyd Mayweather definitely was influenced by this dude. Pure old school.

  • Why couldn't James Toney just stay reitired and not damage his legacy by going into a whole different sport called MMA. Even if he comes back to boxing, it's not the same guy. Guys like Bernard Hopkins are still in the game cause they never really left it. BHOP stayed in shape. James Toney was a fucking scientist in the ring and now a lot of people just consider him a joke. It sucks.

  • Dam man, these series of fights that these two had against each other are crazy man. I am so glad I saw this highlight reel. Thanks

  • dam toney was good at middle weight shame he let himself become a big fat ass

  • OK. This James Toney against Marvin Hagler. Who gets the win?

  • @disgrapefruit2bitter Toney was better than Hagler... In any aspect Toney would win, Toney was relaxed even when heavyweights were swinging bombs at him, he wasnt dirty, technique was probably the best ever meanwhile Haglers punches were round, his defence wasnt good + he was dirty and won a title with a headbutt. Toney by WIDE UD. I'm gonna get blasted right now by many boxing noobs for this comment

  • A young mccallum would have beaten Toney

  • @4capulina totally agree. And Toney is my all-time favorite. McCallum was the most avoided, underrated champion ever. Respect to Toney for fighting him when no one else wanted to. They gave each other hell, too. Very, VERY evenly matched fighters with advanced defensive and counterpunching ability. Superior fighters they were.

  • if i could fight like any boxer it would have to be toney old skool shoulder roll's and a sick counter right

  • Robert Cock scored 1st fight a draw. That guy deserve to have that surname xD

  • @KravaLLT hhahhhahahahaha. i agree

  • @KravaLLT Lol imagine had his first name been "dick"

  • Mike's chin saved him

  • ONE OF MY TOP FIVE BOXING MATCHES OF ALL TIME. BOXER VS BOXER. SKILLS GALORE IN THIS FIGHT. PEACE

  • This is one of my favourite fights. This is beautiful. So much skill both of them.

  • insane skills

  • mike mccallum has a granite chin

  • when Toney is faced with Top opposition you get the best james toney...these 3 fights alone should be studied by inside fighters because Mike mccallum was another beast that was heavily avoided.... because of skill and power he was the 1st man to KO Jullian Jackson

  • Skinny James Toney might be one of the best boxers I've ever seen. When he could actually be bothered to fight he was a genius. I feel like I should be taking notes whenever I watch him.

  • McCallum had hell of a chin !

  • 1st fight is the best, Toney made him pay for the low left hand all fight long. McCallum still didn't shy away from his jab though which deserve some respect after he was punished for it so much.

The question people will ask about Toney - what if he had kept the weight off? He lost to Roy and was comfort eating the rest of his career.

Awesome, slick style, rode punches as good as anyone and wasn't afraid to bang. Comedy act now, beast back in the day.

  • @AQ1888 Toney is easily the 2nd most talented fighter I have ever seen(Roy was #1) his fights at light heavy phuked up his legacy I wish he would of just went straight to cruiserweight

  • @tatertots00 Roy the most talented? The quickest yes but not the most talented. Toney fought at heavyweight with more than 60 pounds of fat packed on to his ideal frame. Roy put on muscle to move up weight classes. Its hard to believe that roy would have done what he did at higher weight classes if he just ate burger king all day toney style.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane You can't penalize Roy for staying in shape

  • @tatertots00 Im not penalizing him at all for staying in shape. Im just saying that roy didn't have great fundamentals or defensive skills, just amazing reflexes and speed. Looking at him now just proves that, without those reflexes and speed, hes nothing special and reflexes and speed is not talent, it is athleticism. James Toney on the other hand, never had the amazing reflexes and speed, he was just naturally a genius defensively, which is talent.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane athleticism is part of having talent

  • @tatertots00 lol whatever you say, obviously you cockride rjj all the time, so anything other than saying he was the greatest boxer that ever lived ever most talented, hardest puncher ect. is going to get you all pissy. I was looking forward to having an intellectual conversation with you about boxing but obviously you just cant keep up...haha

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane athleticism is part of talent everybody knows this

  • @tatertots00 In boxing you have THREE dimensions of talent to analyze, actually. Athleticism (footwork, agility, endurance, speed, etc.), offensive ability (ring generalship, shot selection, combination fluidity, and tactical intelligence), and defensive skills (includes counterpunching since defense is prerequisite; slipping, ducking, parrying, catching, pivoting). James scores a B in the first category and A+ in the other two. Roy scores an A+ in the 1st two, but a resounding F in the last.

  • @daTruChosen lol Roy Jones is an A+ in all three categories. You big dummy that why he dominated James Toney.

  • @tatertots00 You're a silly loser who knows NOTHING about boxing. Get RJJ's cock out of your esophagus. Roy Jones ONLY dominated James Toney because Toney had to lose 46lbs in four weeks... he was drained... and Jones still couldn't stop him. In fact, in rounds 5 and 9, Toney rocked Jones; once with a hook, once with a counter right... both counterpunches. You fucking idiot!!!! Don't know SHIT about boxing. NOTHING!!!

  • @tatertots00 Roy gets A+ in all categories... if that were true, he'd have eluded the counter left by Tarver and the overhand right by Johnson that disconnected him from his senses. James would've seen it coming and slipped that shit... that's why he's never been stopped. Roy's a great athlete, but a subpar boxer... just face that shit, you fucking cretin.

  • @daTruChosen Roy was already washed up when he fought Tarver and had an F defense and cool breeze could knock him out.

  • Argh ... I had to study for an exam today, and you uploaded 4 new fights. ;)
