I agree what Cahill did was right but i feel sorry for that lady who did the post match interview. Fox Sports always wrote positive things about the Socceroos and Cahill and it was only the other media who criticised them.

Soccer is short for Association football, but you're right is should be called just football. I think the term Soccer in the US stigmatizes the game as something foreign and for kids and inferior to American Football. But the US often goes out of the way to be different from the rest of the world, even if it's ridiculous, like the date format being the month before the day and then the year. We can only be thankful they didn't call it Ass instead of Soccer.

I didn't make this video to impress Tim Cahill. I made it because i am sick of all the bullshit that the media prints. Not defending 'the media' in any way, but just a few points:

1. Everyone hates 'the media' but they love it because they know if you've read their story and have cared enough to hate it, then they've got readers/viewers. Thus they'll continue to write such stories.

Solution: Don't watch, listen to or read anything. Easier said than done!

2. To hold 'the media' accountable you can sue for defamation, complain about a breach of the AJA Code of Ethics or e-mail ABC's Media Watch. Have fun!

3. I doubt Cahill deserved what he got, but what he got was nothing compared to what many rugby league players have gone through over the last year or so. Cahill has not been painted as a drunk, gang rapist or woman basher.

The Daily Telegraph have jumped at the opportunity to link the 'ongoing controversy' to the Socceroos, but I don't believe football has been singled out.

I agree. I had no choice to watch it as i watched the game & when they said they were about to interview Cahill i wanted to hear what he had to say & then lol.

Also yesteerday the media had a headline "First Australian person Does from Swine Flu" then in a paragraph about half way down the story said it has not been confirmed that he died from swine flu as he had multiple health issues. What a totally lie of a headline. I try to avoid the media but it's difficult.
