He didn't go to Los Altos Dustin. He lived in the Baldwin Hills which is in the Los Angeles area and he dropped out of high school to join "The Mystic Knights of Oingo Boingo" Which eventually became Oingo Boingo
If anyone has any information, sheet music, or better yet, any current/past Los Altos musicians (still in southern California) who might want to be a part of recording the song in the studio, PLEASE contact me here or at teamduncan(at sign)msn.c0m If I get enough responses from LAHS musicians, I will pay for the studio time. Thanks, Jim Duncan
This composition is approximately 40 years old from what I understand. I am a long time musician and want to re-record the song professionaly in a recording studio, to honor Mr. Morrel Pfeifle. (SEE NEXT POST FOR REMAINDER OF MESSAGE)
I graduated in Los Altos in 1989 & was in the HS choir. I was wondering does anybody have a good/clean recording or sheet music, of the LAHS Conquistadores fight song? Sadly, there is no recordings and/or information on the net about Morrel Pfeifle or the history to the composition of this great & powerful song. (SEE NEXT POST FOR THE REMAINDER OF MESSAGE)
Morell died in a plane crash in 1977. He was the pilot, a professor at Cal State Northridge. And a friend. I followed him there from Los Altos in 1973 and was a graduate assistant at CSUN when he died. Lived at his house.
Good 'ol Los Altos. I got a little teary and I wasn't even in the band. I hear tell '73 was the best year ever though.

I'm sure you're aware that the famous movie music guy Danny Elfman was in our marching band in the late 70's
