I love this movie so much, because it is so surreal how I can relate to it. A girl I used to date, this movie portrays our relationship from beginning to end just about 100%, it's truelly like watching an autobiography of my life during that period. Really the only difference is I didn't quit using, and she cheated on me and I broke up with her. Other than that, its so identical.

Candy was one of Heath's movies that I had a hard time making myself see. But it is also one that stays with me long after seeing it because Heath played Dan so brilliantly. But then, he never disappoints in anything he chose to do. But still, Candy is very, very special.

i suspect that heath started experimenting with opiates while getting into character for this movie. he looks awfully doped up in alot of this movie...i know he's an actor and all but. after going through it myself its crazy to watch it broken down into heaven earth and hell which is exactly how it goes...."when i first met candy those were like the days of juice"
I feel that this is his best movie. The story is so completely touching. They both brought their characters forward and it is amazing that it wasn't an awarded film.
this reminds me so much of me and my ex-girlfriend, such a beutiful relationship in the beginning and then it just became twisted cause we had so much fights, but dam i loved her alot! such deep love..... i miss her alot sometimes.

I seem to be the only one creeped out by the fact that it's his sister. Call me old fashioned, but I think that's maybe a good example of when 'close' becomes 'too close'.
It's originally by Tim Buckley but a few other people have done covers of it. His is byfar the best though. It's not easy to get hold of. It's on his album 'Starsailor' which came out in 1970 but i think you can also get it on his anthology, 'Morning Glory'. His son, Jeff Buckly also did an amazing cover of it but thats even more difficult to find. The Tim Buckley version is on youtube somewhere,
Heath noted it was the film Candy in which he got to use his real voice. Think of all the amazing accents he was capable of doing. Heath was an acting marvel & beautiful in every way.

Wow, awesome, Laura. I can see why Heath is a sex object for so many. He is sexy in this movie. It's bittersweet, however. I look forward to crying over this. Thanks for the beautiful song, too. It's perfect.

This song, coupled with these clips from Candy really holds the power to evoke emotions. Seriously, my sister called me a couple of minutes ago while I was watching the video and I didn't even notice! I was completely immersed in it. So sad, so beautiful. Eerily beautiful. Heath was a rare, fragile beauty. Nobody will ever replace him!

Oh my god...so it is...10 months. We HAVE to do something for the 1st anniversary. What a day that will be - same day they announce the Oscar nominations too. How bittersweet.

And yes, on the 1st anniversary I'm going to Perth since I don't think I can make N.Y.C at this stage. I'm also thinking about getting a tiny tattoo on Jan 22 for Heath. Maybe a little purple flower to symbolize one of the origins of his name, the heather plant. (I don't give a flying one what people say about it, either. I won't be discouraged).
In any case, the 1st anniversary marker is gonna be a hell of a sad day.
