Snap On has not caught on yet, most switched to lithium Ion batteries which last longer.IR and Matco use these batteries.Matco got the award for their cordless line.
(A) The newest Snap-on & Matco 1/2 impacts are excellent, but I just got the Milwaukee 2663 1/2 impact kit (bare tool, 2 lith-ion batteries & a charger), AND the 2664 3/4 drive impact bare tool for $100 & $25 less, respectively, than I what the Matco 1/2 kit & Snap-On 1/2 kit go for. My Matco salesman also said it's only 1 year warr. for Matco cordless tools & batteries. Milwaukee has 5 year limited warr. The Milwaukee 1/2 gun is rated 450 ft-lbs stall torque; the 3/4 gun, 525(!). [CON'T]
(B) I emailed Milwaukee's tech department, who said Milwaukee doesn't measure "breakaway" torque, since the results are too unpredictable & therefore lend themselves to exaggerated results. They stick with stall torque. The 2664 Mil 3/4 gun has, I believe, more power than either the Snap-On or the Matco half-inchers & is shorter than either of them.
From my 15+ years experience, Snap-ons ct4850, ct6855, very good guns for the app, but not the best. I have the Matco 18v lithium mcl18v, it will take the lugs off a semi wheel(725 lb. R, 425 lb. F). This video is outdated. There are other more powerful better guns out there, but you have to do some research. Snap-on is mostly overhyped. In my opinion, the only thing snapon is best at, is chrome sockets & wrenches; the grip is amazing. Impact sockets, Matco hands down, there more heavy duty!

what's the model # on this gun?
deziking 1 year ago
@deziking I believe this one was the CT4850. However the new unit is the CT6850 and the CT6855( both Lithium Ion ready) It's stronger.

I work in a car dismantling scrapyard, and I use one of these snap-on impact wrenches on a daily basis,
it's a fantastic tool.
I liked it so much I bought one for my own use in my workshop, to work on my collection of old rusty cars:)
