..yes you can eat the head if you like.... just get rid of the gills...but again...there is nothing to really eat in a small fish head....what is best to do, rinse it up, put it in a pot with some celery, carrots, onion, one or two bay leaves,let it simmer for some short time, then straing it and now you have a nice "stock". (that is the base for many other things, like a soup for instance).

@simlishcroft Yes of course you can. I'm not fond of it but my friend who is filleting/gutting the fish eats it. I've had it before but I just can't get my western-indoctrinated mind around eating the 'head' of anything.
