@ruralblight I don't know... I'd find it more visually satisfying if millions of smaller meteors collided with the earth rather than a big ball. It makes the action seem so much grander than it really is. One giant meteor is easy to track and doesn't seem all over the place and chaotic.

@seinfeldfan7898 The Earth is what i'm saying would break and crumble. The asteroid will obviously break into thousands of pieces during entry into the atmosphere and the collision itself. So technically speaking, both would break and crumble. So I don't see a point of asking what you just asked as it applies to both.
