@BurgermanFritte Yeah it's a genre of metal that has a good groove as you could guess, which bands like ektomorf, soulfly and sepultura fall under but they are literally the only bands that you can call groove metal but groove metal is just basically a very close sub-genre to thrash metal which is what those 3 bands are as well because they use elements from bands like metallica and pantera :P
