0:38 actually, zelda can die instead of peach. It depends on the petey pirahna battle. He has two life meters. The zelda cage meter and the peach cage meter. Whatever cage dies first will join your team first. For example, if you kill the zelda cage first. Zelda will stay with you and peach will die. However, if you kill the peach cage first, Peach will star with you and Zelda will die. This will also change the future stuff in the story.

It's rumored that the smash ball was going to be an actual item to be in the first game for the N64. Other characters like Pit, Bowser, peach, Mew Two, Meowth, and King DeDeDe, were set to appear in the first game as well. Everything Here is removed due to time restraints.

uh that's not really what the subspace emissary is about like at all. Its not all about saving the princesses, instead its about saving the world from tabuu and subspace. There are many different goals and motives, depending on what section your playing in. For example, samus isn't trying to save anyone, she's just trying to get her power suit back, and as for characters like link and mario, their trying to be the heros or whatever. other than that, good review

I bought this game two days ago based on its hype but it hasn't convinced me yet. The game seems a button masher to me and it's just not that fun apart from the nostalgia and fan service it clearly delivers (not so much for me as i just recently got into Nintendo).

I'll guess i have to give the game a few more tries before i decide to keep it or to sell it.

@sonicadv27 Well I can tell you that the game is definitely not a button masher. Learning to use the shield, dodge and attack effectively makes the game a whole lot of fun but if you don't have anyone to play with it's far less fun.

It might just be me, really... The game is slowly growing on me, but sadly it's not as compelling as other fighting games, at least for now.

Let me correct you kNIGHT, the story of Brawl (The Subspace Emissary), varies, it depends on the characters you choose when it tells you to choose who you want to play as, example, the Mario vs Kirby battle, you can choose who to play as, when Petey Pirhana takes Zelda and Peach, you can choose who to save by destroying they're cage, and then the other will be taken by Wario, so pretty much you can create your own story, the levels and story line doesn't change other than the cut scenes.

Uhh...no offense, but when you said "Halberd", you pronounced it as "Halbred" rather than "Halberd", as in a Halberd Axe. But I definitely agree with this review. However, one more problem I could name is that several characters people wanted in weren't included and others that were included, well, no one even knew or cared for. Like ROB, for example. They put him in, but few who play SSB games had even heard of him before playing SSBB at all. But Geno, one many people knew, wasn't included.

@Zoroark7 The reason some of those well known characters couldn't get in is because their third-party owners wouldn't give nintendo any rights to the characters... and Geno is owned by Squaresoft, now called square enix, and they wanted a huge amount of money for his rights... which is lame!!! but other first-party characters like Little Mac from punch-out, or Issac from golden sun should have been in brawl.

the only complaint i have about this game was the computer ai in free for all mode... it wasn't really free for all it was team computers with friendly fire on. That really hurt some of the replay value for me.
