A microburst is a very localized column of sinking air, producing damaging divergent and straight-line winds at the surface that are similar to but distinguishable from tornadoes which generally have convergent damage.
We didn't do anything extra to anchor them. Growing out of sand, the root structures remained mostly in tact and the weight of the trees has so far, kept them in place. We'll see how they winter.
I not only wrapped my arms around each of these trees, I hugged all who helped to save them. It was a glorious moment in the wake of all that destruction. Thanks, Jenny!
