Warrior was an excellent movie. I wouldn't say it was "Favorite of all time" compatible, but it was definitely in my top 15 for the year, maybe top 10.

@bertsteerswimmer Yeah, but I get the 3-D release of 'Toy Story' and 'Toy Story 2' because it's CG and, though I don't care, technically does enhance the experience. (I like it better in movies like 'How to Train Your Dragon' and 'Kung Fu Panda 2' where it really does work amazingly.) But 'The Lion King' is 2-D animation. It's fine if they re-release it, I'm actually content with that. But 3-D? That's just an unnecessary way to raise the price.

There are so few 3-D pictures I've actually looked back on and thought, "Yeah, that was worth the extra price. :)" (Two, actually; the ones I mentioned above.) This seems to be a highly unlikely one to make that list. But we'll see.

@bertsteerswimmer I don't deny that it's enjoyable ("great" might be an overstatement) and family-friendly. It just seems like a waste to pay the extra fee for 3-D for something meant to be in 2-D.

But hey, I guess if you're a big enough fan, you're more than willing. It's like going to watch 'Attack of the Clones' and 'Revenge of the Sith' (even after seeing 'Phantom Menace') just because it's a Star Wars movie and you'll be damned to miss out on anything Star Wars.

@bertsteerswimmer I suppose I was a little haste to judge. For the true fans of 'Lion King' who grew up with it, I'm sure it was quite a nice experience. I actually didn't see it until I was 15, so of course I'm not as crazy about it as most (but again, I don't deny that it wasn't enjoyable).

When I went to see the '90s 'Toy Story' movies it was more out of nostalgia than for the 3-D. But it was the experience of watching it with fellow fans who grew up with it that made it so memorable.

Why does Hollywood insist on making movies about tough guys who have to stop the bad guys? It's a lot cooler when everyday people, like Indiana Jones, have to defeat evil.
