My town's museum. which has a stuffed one, advises that the tiger is successful in only one of of twenty hunts (though I think their's is rather less successful than that!). For me, the tiger is king of the beasts.

I think what we are hearing is a lion roaring or chuffing in the background, that's why the tiger moved away downhill, disgruntled as he went - no?

The lions are in a completely different area - 'tis the tiger you hear. It had been roaring much louder before I arrived all exhausted from running as I honed in on his majestic calling!

Latest update:

One of the injured victims from that attack has recanted his story and admitted they had been taunting the tiger by yelling at it atop a railing and waving their arms around. As they stepped down, they heard noises coming from a bush and were then attacked. They had all been drinking & smoking marijuana that day.

I'm presuming you mean the incident at San Francisco Zoo on Christmas Day.

Tatiana was a Siberian tiger - the investigation is still being held. Zoo director has admitted the tiger wall enclosure stood under the 'recommended' height.

Unfortunately, I have witnessed many younger visitors taunting zoo animals in my experience

Obviously. Yes, the zoo should've been responsible.. However.. kids shouldn't be taunting wild animals anyway.. even if the wall is higher than recommended. some tigers are strong enough to jum over that high.

Siberian Tigers= 300-400 vs 6 billion humans on this planet.. we need to preserve the siberian and any tiger in the world.

I used to think that too, but if you google the word "liger" these are now the biggest cats around. A hybrid produced when cross-breeding a lion with a tiger. These ligers are gentle giants & not as aggressive as their parental counterparts.

naw- its not. lions theoretically roar slightly louder because their vocal apparatus is slightly larger. but i was at the lionhouse at lincoln park zoo in chicago the other day where they keep lots of wild cats and the siberian tiger there was roaring and lemme tell you it was the scariest thing ive ever heard
