You can use it at home - you can score these off ebay slightly used for about $100 give or take. They are VOIP phones, so you will need a VOIP service provider, though if you wish you can build yourself a PBX using AsteriskNOW and get a lot more functionality (that of a commercial PBX)
@Cleenz the 7941 I believe has 4, the 7940G has 2. I have a 7940G in my room and a 7910G+S/W in the kitchen and im running cucme 4.0 with AA. im going to be upgrading soon. adding in 7 more phones and the fxo-m1 to my 1760 and some memory also.
i saw one of these at an office sell out for like 6 bucks

This is a 7960. The 7940 only has 4 buttons on the top next to the display.

You could, but...this phone runs $400-500, so I don't recommend it.
