  • You are so pretty and that color looks great on you :)

  • GREAT video Liz :) very inspiring! Can't wait for your "how to start a raw vegan diet" vieo :DDD just one question though: what do you use instead of the birth control pill? I'm quite young (19 yo) & don't want to get pregnant yet but I agree birth control is bad chemicals but I don't know how to replace it! What do you suggest??

  • Thank you so much for answering my questions...You are amazing:)

  • Really enjoyed you video informative. When you have time come visit my channel!

  • Great video! I especially like how you explained everything.

  • Liz, I agree with what you said above about eating 2-3 meals a day. It works better for me, especially when I am 100% raw. When I eat smaller meals throughout the day, I find I overeat and I worry and obsess about eating. I also agree that eating enough calories at your meals satiates your appetite. I love all your info on fresh whole food! I'm also glad you don't focus on a lot of fat.

  • I love your hair in this video!!! Can you do a tutorial on it? Thank you!!!!!

  • Thanks for the great video, Liz! You inspirer me to eat healthy to take care of my body and to think positive and enjoy life! Ive been watching your videos for a while now, and I'm so glad I found your channel last year! I think you are one of the best beauty/health/fitness gurus on You Tube. Thanks for all the videos with great tips! God bless! <3 :)

  • Why is 2 meals a day better than 6 small meals?

  • @ceisiminger Because it lets your digestion rest. (;

  • @ceisiminger well.to say the truth ,a veagan life style is a great one ,altho im not a veagan ...but to say an animal can decay in a hour or two is reaching ...! Your body processes the food ?animal or veg.. within well enough time before it " decays in the human body..'' unless the person or animal itself who has eatan the food or other animal is dead after it has eatin , then and only then ..will something decay innyour body......fact!

  • Liz, do you buy your fruits and vegetables USDA Organic or organic?

    please let me know

  • Thanks so much for addressing my question Liz...although i don't think an Irish person like me will ever consider we're not designed to eat potatoes!!!:P. No..you really do inspire me to want to eat more fresh & natural foods. My latest kick is i really want to start juicing'..spinach..oj,.cucumber..a little carrot & avocado also -i tried this recenlty & it was delicious. Green leafy salads can sometimes feel too cold for me here in Ireland also so it makes it easier to have more raw items. :D

  • Hi Liz, I'm wondering if you've lost any weight since starting (not that you needed to) and what changes have you noticed in your body (muscle, tone, etc.)? Thx!

  • @artsycupcake This isn't a weight loss diet. You have to eat 2500 to 3000 kcalories per day.

  • Liz! You are awesome. I am sending you an email soon, a private one via Facebook, I have some more detailed questions for you.

It is so interesting watching you on this nutritional journey! Thank you for sharing!

  • Thanks for the advice you are truly inspirational I hope to one day be like you and go raw I really want to and will be trying some of the recipes you have posted thanks for all ur great tips.

  • hi liz, you are so amazing. that is obvious and your energy always shines through you=)...one question though: what do you do regarding birth control? do you do the urin test in order to know when the ovulation is going to start? or could you give some tips and advice on how you recommend to do it...=)!

  • .....cavemen and such created fires to cook their food.

  • @FattyFucksLemons Yes, but they ate raw foods before they knew how to make fires and survived very well. (;

  • I also did some research about food containing less pesticides and started buying those fruit but then got informed that it was sprayed with all sorts of substances while in transportation. And contrary to many beliefs, farmer markets do not grow their produce organic (atleast not here in Croatia)! Anyhow, just wanted to share my experience here. Also I wanted to ask, it seems like you are very careful about not taking in any toxins or chemicals, do you use natural and organic cosmetics?

  • @mfsplaylist It is equally important to watch what you are putting on your skin since it is absorbed right away and goes staight to your blood stream, lots of beauty products contain chemicals and hormones...

  • Hi Liz,

When I first saw your video about raw food, I got totally inspired to try it and did so for about 2 weeks. After a few days, my boyfriend came up to me while I was enjoying my delicious mixed fruits and veggie salad and said, this should all be healthy but do you have any idea of how much pesticides and chemicals you are eating? I realized that by eating this much fresh fruit and veggies, that it's realy important to make sure that your food is not cuntaminated with toxic substances.

  • Do you use all natural makeup (i.e. Tarte, Josie Maran, Bare Escentuals)?

  • Great video Liz. One thing I would like to say is that eating 2-3 meals a day is NOT better than eating throghout the day. This actually encourages your body to store fat. Of course one should only eat when hungry but by eating 5-6 small meal you keep your blood sugar level on an evel keel which keeps your metabolism running high. Additionally, it's much easier on your body to digest smaller quantity of foods at a time. It's kinda like a fire in the fireplace... You add logs constently to keep

  • @yourweightcoach Thanks. I used to think the same way as you - eating 5-6 small meals a day was better but I've learned that it is not because it's better to give your body a rest from digesting so it can focus on restoring the body throughout the day as well. If you eat enough at each meal you will have energy until your next meal, you won't need to constantly "add fire". (;

  • @LizYArtur I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ACID REFLUX DUE TO EATING TOO MANY VEGETABLES IN THEIR RAW STATE THAT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO EAT ANY MORE I AM NOT OVER WEIGHT AND I REFURE TO TAKE MEDICATION FOR THIS I DONT BELIEVE IN THAT PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE.

  • @elle241983 Are you sure your acid reflux is due to your diet? I know diet can affects extent of the acid reflux but I thought acid reflux results from a faulty valve above your acidic stomach.

  • @yourweightcoach Your metabolism in general will only really slow down if you are eating very few kcalories per day and even then it will take a few days to switch into the starvation mode of conserving energy. Snacking is good to curb hunger if that's a problem you have and like to eat smaller meals. This is kind of a tangent, but a dentist told me he hates when people snack b/c it promotes tooth decay since plaque increases after eating even if it's something healthy.

  • Thank you so much for being so positive! :)

  • I just wanted to say I really respect your opinion on healthy eating. You clearly have done a lot of research and I think its awesome that you took it upon yourself to change your lifestyle to be healthier. You look so healthy and pretty...it is definitely working for you!

  • i really i wanna start eating like this, but i dont no where to start like i dont understand what i should eat over through out the day and make sure i eat enough

  • @fatkiki69 I am planning to do a video on how to start a raw vegan diet soon.. it will help you! (:

  • Thank you so much for making this video!! I found it really helpful! :) A lot of these questions were ones that I had so it was great!! :D

the only thing I thought was kind of odd was that you said when you eat meat you have a decaying animal inside of you...I don't really agree with that, because it gets broken down, quickly enough that it doesn't have the time to really decay inside of you...

anyways this was a really great video!! :)

  • How is that you find all of this information? I goggle this but no recipes of hardly anything related to eating raw.

  • Truthfully, I do believe that a raw vegan diet is quite healthy though I personally love seafood and meat way too much to cut that out of my diet... but historically speaking, before we had electricity, etc. our ancestors hunted for meat and in the beginning of time ate raw meat... just seems contradicting to just eat plants and vegetables because they were historically intended for our consumption when our ancestors ate meat as well.

  • i agree that not eating meat is more healthy but i dont see it as decaying it is fresh then cooked then is is digested then its gone, do you see eating veggie means that you have decaying plants inside you or that would eat them and digest them ?

  • @rachel88h No, when you eat RAW fruits & veggies they are still alive therefore they are not dead or decaying inside of you! (;

  • @rachel88h I was thinking the same thing....anything you put in your stomach is going to decay....that is what the stomach does, it breaks the contents down. I was also thinking of those animals that eat both veggies and meats....omnivores. Humans have canine teeth, which were designed (if you follow evolution) to rip and tear flesh. I find all view points interesting and enjoy the "conversations"

  • You shouldnt have to explain your choices. There a legit questions and then there are just haters looking to find fault. I enjoy your videos. More raw videos, pks

  • You shouldnt have to explain yourn

  • Great informative video Liz. This diet, or lifestyle, really intrigues me. I am so far from having a healthy diet but would really like to change that. I was wondering if you'd ever consider making a grocery shopping list video for people starting out on this plan.

  • Thank you sweetheart so much for making this video! I have had so many questions! You are extremely helpful! I am trying to eat & live healthier! I had to have a hysterectomy a year ago at the age of 27:( Since I have ha problems with hormanal acne & a slight weight gain.I feel that eating healthier will help.Again thank you so much love!

  • I will try to eat vegetarian first then I am going over to raw food :)

  • Thank you so much for your videos and for being such an inspiration to all of us here!! I look forward to your videos everyday! I'm so grateful that uplifting people like yourself take the time out of their day to share their lifestyles with the rest of us. And the message of health that you're spreading is fantastic! Haha, I'm so excited! Going to eat a big salad and enjoy a bike ride now :-)

  • This was incredibly interesting..I feel better informed. Thanks v much - you have found your forte!

  • Vegan power!! <3

  • Thanks Liz for all your imformation and thanks for being open with us all the time. I dont eat raw, but because of you I have been eating more fruits and veggies.

  • Hey! I was just wondering what birth control and a raw vegan diet have to do together. Like, how does that diet make it unnecessary to tAke birth control? Thanks for the amazing video by the way.

  • @Audreyhepbrun I didn't explain that well... my thoughts are in the information box.

  • Liz... have you seen the documentary "Food Matters"? If not, I highly recommend you take an hour and check it out. It's on Netflix. It will provide you with even more great reasons why we should be living and eating as you do! Thank you for all you give us as viewers!

  • Eating healthy is so confusing. I read in a quite a few books that we shouldnt mix fruits and vegetable together. And that if we exercise we should increase the amount of protein, healthy protein like chciken breast, yogurt. nuts etc. Hard to know whats right and whats wrong anymore. If you are feeling the healthies you ever have it must be good for your body. I guess we need to try and see how our body feels. Thanks you are beautiful and are in amazing shape, you r an insiration to us.

  • but how is fish not healthy...and it has omega 3 which is super healthy but you can't get that from fruits and vegtables...

im not saying there's anything wrong with your diet it's definetly a billion times more healthy than most people's but i was just wondering why you don't like fish.

  • @lauralovesligers There is omega 3 in fruits and veggies! (;

  • Anyways, thanks for putting in the effort to make videos and I don't mean anything against you. I just want to provide a fuller picture. I highly recommend the book Nutrition Diva's Secrets for a Healthy Diet: What to Eat, What to Avoid, and What to Stop Worrying About by Monica Reinagel who has a M.S in Nutrition and is a L.D.(licensed dietitian)/N. It's not a diet book but a general book on what you need to know about nutrition in general regardless of the lifestyle you follow.

  • @blackbear52able No worries! Thanks for your respect and thoughts! (:

  • Thank you very much for this video, very very good.

Lately I started to thing about meet, fisch in a different way. Actually, you are eating a dead animal, and all that this animal went through, is being passed to you. I'm slowly stoping the consumsion. I don't know how were we told to believe that eating another animal is healthy and ok.

  • Hi, I just want to say that you're such an inspiration to me, I want to eat better, I stopped eating meat a month ago, and it's thanks to you. I realize a lot of things. But I'm not a big fan of raw diet, I heard a doctor say that it's because we cooked our food that we didn't stay animals and it's against human developpement.

    Thank you for your vidéo..

I'm looking forward to be in summer so I'll can eat fruits that I love.

  • @MissOrelia7 Awesome and thank you! ! You shouldn't believe everything doctors tell you... they aren't very well trained in nutrition. (;

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Even though meat may not be necessary it is still full of great nutrients like proteins, selenium, zinc, iron, b12, CLA etc. So people eat meat have iron that's more easily absorbed and b12 supplements for meat eaters is not necessary since only the weight of B12 needed daily is = to the weight of the ink on a period. Also, the whole point of amino acids is to build proteins not for energy. plants build proteins as well. they have their own unique enzymes, metabolic processes etc.

  • Have you gained/lost weight since this change? 2000-3000 calories seems a lot?

  • Continuing my previous point, Graham says the sugar moves easily in and out of the blood. Maybe he's talking about it being stored as glycogen not absorption. Because when it comes to absorption eating a smoothies means faster sugar absorption that a whole fruit but eating fat with a whole fruit slows down absorption(there is a lower concentration of sugar now and fat absorption is more complex) and decreases blood sugar spiking, allowing more time for the liver to work to maintain levels.

  • Hey Liz. I really love your videos, but I just want to clarify some things. Firstly, this diet doesn't raise blood sugar levels because unless there's something wrong with your liver or body, you will maintain constant blood levels in all nutrients. Any excess sugar will be stores as glycogen in liver/muscle. Up to 1800kcal can be stored. Leftovers after that will become fat. So there will be sugar spikes with this hi sugar diet but your body will work hard to maintain constant levels overall.

  • Awesome video, Liz. You are an inspiration in so many ways! Love you, girl!

  • arent frozen veggies almost the same as fresh????

  • @acquintero100 Frozen veggies are cooked before they are frozen.

  • I'm just wondering, although I think it's very healthy to eat raw veggies and fruits since the vitamins are better preserved, I'm not sure about the argument 'in the beginning of time people ate raw whole foods' (when the neanderthals/cavemen walked the earth). Since no one knows when fire was actually invented, it was already invented in cavemen-time, there's a lot of proof for that. Since 600.000-350.000 years ago the human body has completely adjusted itself to cooked food and fire.

  • Would you suggest other forms of birth control other than the pill? Or did you just eliminate it completly?

  • I'm really interested in a raw vegan diet.. I've often heard that eating 5-6 times a day is healthier than eating 3 meals..what research have you found that supports eating larger meals without snacking? Thanks!

  • @ksmile29 it allows your body to rest and focus on restoring your body rather then constantly digesting all day.

  • YES! the more you eat something the more you want it. I stopped eating processed foods and i eat loads of fruits and veggies and i crave broccoli like its nothing

  • Liz- You are truly such a beautiful person inside and out! Thanks so much for answering my question! :)

  • Since skin is the bodies biggest organ, do you plan to go "natural" with beauty products as well? Non, paraben, mineral oils, etc......? Very interesting video :)

  • I use to take the Pill because it was suppose to decrease my acne, but it didn't work AND I felt like I broke out more. I agree w/ your choice.

  • Next time can you mention the youtubers name who asked you the question. I just think that makes it more personal. Some how it does. Anyways its up to you. I'd be nice to know if a question you answered was mine or someone else's.

Great vids. You really are encouraging a healthy lifestyle that I'm gradually improving upon.

  • do you drink soymilk or almond milk or anything?

  • Great video as usual! You inspire me alot! Please please upload your previous video without music as i can't watch it in Germany because of copyrights or something i guess :-(

  • As soon as I finished this video I put on my workout clothes because it motivated me to go out for a bike ride! It's beautiful in Virginia today.

  • Also you could be wrong about not needing much protein at the least you should get about 25.. i thought you ate nuts?? my moms friend was vegan for years and she had to start eating meat again because she was so weak from not having protein maybe this could be because she wasn't eating tons of fruits and veggies like you are ..just letting you know this.. love your videos liz!

  • Great information Liz!!! I would love to eat 100% raw, but i know that right now i can't. I do eat really really healthy and i eat tons of fruits and veggies a day, but i have to have my decaf coffee, and turkey or chicken, some days.

  • omg a dead animal decaying inside of me ! yuck ! i rarely eat meat but yuck !

  • so when you blend fruit with fat in a smoothie it makes the sugar increase?

  • @bellamae09 No, the sugar does not increase... it is just not in the form that nature intended and the sugar gets absorbed quicker than it would by eating the fruit whole.

  • What type of birth control do you use now?

  • @adgex0 Awe, thanks love!! So are you! (; xx

  • Omg love your top and makeup! Do you have a tutorial on this eye look???

  • @AuroraSkyBeautiful I agree but before they learned how to cook they were eating raw foods and surviving very well. (:

  • @LizYArtur And they were hunting and eating meat. I only eat very little meat (maybe once a week; and I totally understand your reasons for not eating meat) - but when you are talking about natural eating habits I have to add that mankind only survived because they ate meat and it gave them more strength to survive the challenges of nature. Only nowadays where there are not that much dangers from nature, people can allow themselves to not eat meat.

  • @LizYArtur And... (please don't feel like I'm attacking you; as I said, I totally get where you're coming from) ... but you said you live in Canada. Which fruit is originally from Canada? Surely no pineapples, bananas and other tropical fruit. I don't know canadian vegetation, but I guess it's apples, pears, berries etc. I think you're not sticking by your rule when you eat fruit that has to be transported a LONG way (and thats polluting the environment) to be available for your "natural" diet.

  • @Kathiza1 When did I say I lived in Canada?? I live in Spain...

  • @LizYArtur Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you said in your video something about Canada. I must have misunderstood.

  • I wish I could eat this way. I have oral allergy syndrome and am allergic to so many raw fruits, veggies and nuts ;(

  • I love you!

  • What do you think of metabolic typing? From a RLFV diet perspective.

You mentioned that we really don't need as much protein as society says we do.

But do you think some people need more than others? How would they go about eating RFLV if they are "protein type".

I am mixed type, my mum is carb type but my dad is a protein type and I am interested to know how someone like him would cope.

Thank Liz! Informative video :) xx

  • I really disagree with some of the things you said: "I don't think there are any benefits in eating animal products" It's well known that the main way to gain B vitamins is FROM animal products. So that's confusing. "It's better to eat 2/3 meals a day than to eat the whole day" It's also known that eating LESS more often is better than eating MORE less often - as it increases the metabolism. You shouldn't be stating these things without accurate knowledge as many people will now be misinformed.

  • @SkittlezAddict4Eva I used to think the same way that you think but now I've learned more... it's okay to disagree but I am stating things based on what I've learned and researched. I'm not just making them up.

  • also flax seeds or hemp seeds are packed with amino acids.

  • "My body will not be a tomb for other creatures." - Leonardo da Vinci

  • @claudettedupont Nice quote!!!!!

  • great video :)

  • Here (Northern Europe- Estonia) would be very hard to eat raw, because the choice of different fruit and vegetables is very limited. Everything is imported and lost their taste and quality. But 3 months in the Summer, when everything is ready here, i eat almost raw :))) I think i could never eat 100%, but i do eat as much of fruit i can. I eat it for lunch, dinner, snacks :))) I really admire you Liz!

  • very interesting..thanks xx

  • liz, i don't get the thing with birthcontrol..

  • @klinii Maybe I didn't explain that well... I used to take the birth control pill = 14euros every month. Now I don't take it because I don't believe those chemicals are good for the body, I really became even more aware of this since becoming raw vegan. I now don't take the pill and can spend that 14euros on fruits & veggies or save it. (:

  • @vtsc613 I agree, i don't think a 100% raw diet is necessary.

  • @SkittlezAddict4Eva It's maybe not necessary...but it's a personal decision, everyone has that right. (This works for Liz; it might be too extreme for you) AND no, not all DIETS: meaning types of food (not the weight loss diet) will need supplements to fill in the gap. (IE: multi vitamins) That goes for meat eaters, veggie eaters or both eaters. It's not an exact science. You can't fault someone for promoting a healthy lifestyle. ~Peace & Love

  • @callalilysarepretty I didn't say anything about supplements. In my opinion it's not healthy to deprive yourself of something your body needs. Some of the foods that need to be cooked are needed by the body, so depriving your self of them because you choose not to cook your food is not healthy for your body at all. Yes fruit and veg are best raw, but there's a reason why nature has more than fruits and veg to offer to us.

  • @SkittlezAddict4Eva All our heads could spin round and round with all the different "diets" and "Lifestyles" out there. I say if it helps you becomes a better, healthier, happier you... GREAT! if not, move on to what does. We all have an idea what we think is best for us, Do it... It's almost becoming Taboo to say, I'm Vegetarian or Vegan or whatever... I guess now there are 3 things you CAN'T talk about when your in a crowded room (or vlog) Politics, Religion, & what we eat?!?!

  • do you have any advice--- I'm in college and I don't have the money to buy like 30 bananas a day, etc... what are ways around this?

  • Comment removed

  • I heard you say birth control.. I'm not quite sure what that had to do with it?? What did you mean by that? Was there another reason for you taking birth control?

  • @peace2sign Maybe I didn't explain that well... I used to take the birth control pill = 14euros every month. Now I don't take it because I don't believe those chemicals are good for the body, I really became even more aware of this since becoming raw vegan. I now don't take the pill and can spend that 14euros on fruits & veggies or save it. (:

  • I'm confused...you don't take birth control anymore? is that unhealthy? :)

  • @LustrousLorels any artificial hormones aren't healthy really

  • @LustrousLorels Maybe I didn't explain that well... I used to take the birth control pill = 14euros every month. Now I don't take it because I don't believe those chemicals are good for the body, I really became even more aware of this since becoming raw vegan. I now don't take the pill and can spend that 14euros on fruits & veggies or save it. (:

  • How did you get into becoming so healthy? Did you just wake up one day and wanted to just change your enire diet/life or have you always been eating very healthy?

  • I love your speech :o) Totally agree with you and I begin a raw food diet NOW! I will do my best! You're wonderful :o) xoxo

  • Thanks Liz. You rock. xoxox from Chicago!

  • Fruits are quite expensive here too. But I used to spend huge amounts of money on alcoholic beverages and grazy triple-super-mocha-caramel-lattes to keep my energy levels up. I would much rather spend my money on fresh fruit!

  • Hey liz you look gorgeous!! Just wanted to ask a question, can u have apple cidar vinigar or stevia on this diet?

    thnx,

    xoxo cristin

  • @xoxojuicy21 acv is fermented, but stevia, no

  • Thanks so much for this video! I'm starting a raw vegan diet. I've been 2 years vegetarian and couple of months (cooked) vegan. So many of the people that are near to me have false believes about food. My mom thinks you shouldn't eat too many fruits or you'll get hyperactive and your blood sugar goes up and down. It's really hard to get acceptance and support to continue with this lifestyle.

  • @cchloesparks i can relate to your comment completely! i went raw/vegan for a while and felt amazing but people close to me thought i was crazy and acted as if i joined a cult. they gave me ultimatums and so i had to basically start eating "normally" again. boo!

  • Hi Liz, I can not watch your last video because of the music :-((can you load it up without music please ?

  • in the" beginning of time" we lived off a lot of things that are not in a raw food diet. Man has evolved a lot since then our teeth are a HUGE change we use to have teeth, we use to have huge canine teeth to rip meat off bones.

  • @Janinemarie123

+ man probably didn't get so old at the time - Maybe 30 - 40-years-old and then they would die because of various diseases we also see in our lifetime as well. :)

  • You are nice person. Thank you for this video.:)

  • Hi Liz,

how do you do your hair this way?? I love the center part :)

    Thank you for this video.

    love,

    Tiziana

  • I turned vegan this week. You partially motivated it.

  • I like your hair like this. Informative video.

  • You look overly beautfiul in this video! And I couldn´t stick thorugh such a lets saay regiment ;D
