  • awesome sound my friend. awesome

  • NGmusicACdrums.... "all along the watchtower" ......"lenny".....

  • Which one of your nuts did you give up for that thing?

  • BRAVO! How much did it go for?

  • now this is HUGE sound!

  • This or an ac 30 hmmmmmm?can only afford one cant try either out in my country

  • @mrmagic1989 You should check out Dr Z amps, like the maz 18, its modeled after an ac30. Lots of sounds clips on the DrZ site and ytube. Humbucker music in Georgia (USA) has tons of them, and they are nice to deal with.

  • whats the song??????? please answer

  • @NGmusicACdrums Little wing by jimi hendrix

  • @NGmusicACdrums and ¨hey joe¨

  • Great tone brother!!!! I plan to get a used 1960AX soon to accommodate my JCM 900 4100 model 100 watt Hi Gain Dual Reverb amp head. I hope the 12M-25 Greenbacks sound similar to your 12H Greenback speakers. You are so right about tone is at one's finger tips and vintage gear relying less on pedals......

  • its a marshall man! whats up with you? crank it!! crannnnnnkkkk ittttt!!!

  • what are your amp settings?

  • Using a stomp box with this rig? Shame on you.

  • Nice!!!

  • Little Wing - fuck yeah!

That´s what these amps are created for.

  • got that SRV tone down pretty good

  • just strum it light for chimey cleans or hit it hard for that world famous crunch.U don't have to turn a knob or stomp a pedal or nuthin'.

  • @rw5791 I think I'm not the only guitarist in the world who uses the volume knob or a stompbox for different sounds.... and I use different strumming aswell....

  • @stratocastervox volume swells are cool, especially for country sounds but I find most pedals to be bullshit. That's the great thing about these 60's marshalls. They have touch sensitivity so you get the different sounds just with your hands. It makes for very fluid playing.

  • AWESOME TONE! Great Chime - what pickups are you running?

  • Phenominal, I just picked up a 50 watt plexi that's handwired also and it's so loud, but with my strat with texas specials it is just something amazing. I still have some work to do on my cab situation. I use to run the JCM800 2210 with an 800 cab but I truly have acquired a deep hatred of the G12T75 speakers. I got rid of that rig and now have this head with 2X12 greenback configuration and its good but I want this or the AX cab I believe. Sounds amazing, but a good strat is over 1/2 that fight

  • @willeng84 Marshall 4X12 cab loaded with G1275T are very good cabs for the brightness this amp can produce but the real magic isn't happening untill you crank it around 7 on the volume...Bridged it's even better. This video isn't doing that.

The vintage greenbacks do sound crisper, more mid....I own both drivers loaded in 4X12 cabs and each has is a differant sound depending on what your running through it.

Metal (g1275T)...classic rock/blues (greenbacks)...my own take on these drivers.

  • This is my dream setup. As a Hendrix fan I'm sincere when I say GREAT PLAYING ! BTW, was Hey Joe done with the neck pick up only?

  • I want it

  • Stop listening to your computer speakers, plug the phone out into your sterio or use headphones. This amp sounds killer and has PLENTY of bottom.....

  • guter film mit "little wing von jimi hendrix

  • Great playing too

  • Sounds warmer than my 1987x reissue...

  • Wonderful

  • sounds great all around

  • what loudspeakers do you have in that basketweave cab? it sounds great

  • you play verry well !! I love your sound and I want the same strat

and what is the name of the baffle ? I know for the head but not for the baffle

    thanks for your video

  • That thing sounds great, cant imagine in person, it looks clean as a whistle!. Old Marshalls are great investments too....steady risie in value.

  • the tone is there - but it is very thin and terribly trebly sounding... a 68 has to sound warm and big - so either you didn´t set up the amp properly or there is something wrong in the tone-chain....... my 68 is the best sounding amp - marshall all the way!

  • Wow. Sounds awesome. People always snooze on the Marshall clean sound and praise fender. I've always loved that bright, in your face, edgy percussive Marshall sound that you get before it starts breaking up.

  • Man that thing sounds great.

  • Very bright sounding with that Strat. Love it.

  • @minpinful Let's hear your original music with your original gear then.. Oh wait, i bet you don't even play guitar. Granted that guy can't play for shit, it's still good to have video like these to get an idea of the amp's tone.

  • hey joe; perfect old "feeling sound", hendrix was playing with.

  • tones so glassy could only come from tubes..... what kind of tubes are you running? mullards? brimars?

  • Jumper it man, always nice to blend the two channels

  • wait... i know what is this "year1968" "Model JMP Super PA, 100W head"

    nice one!

  • this is a super lead or super bass?

  • Jim Marshall did an fantastic job copying the 59 Fender Bassman. way to go Jim!

  • Too bad that head goes for twenty grand for a nice one.

  • It kicks Egnators ASS!!!

  • dude, this is awesome. Awesome tone, awesome strat. Great vid btw. Keep on going chief!

  • dig the tone !

  • Amazing... You play Jimi so good, congrats! This amp is the best...

  • The best tone I've ever achieved on the guitar was running my early '70's 50w Marshall Plexi through a Peavey 5150 4x12 cabinet... it was the first 4x12 cabinet Peavey produced for EVH... (the first "EVH" series series of amps and cab's , that is... early '90s)

I think it had much to do with the cab being rated at 300w. 4x75watts per speaker; and the Marshall head producing 50w of power. You gotta divide that 50watts from the head between each of the 4x75 speakers, giving 12.5w per speaker

  • Hey ... I have this exact model .. original 68 jmp50 plexi "1984"

Its in mint condition apart from the red power indicator has blown. All original parts.

It is going up for sale shortly. If anyone viewing this page is interested, drop me a message. We can swap email and i an send photos. Im U.K based

  • Are you using any reverb (pedal) on this?

  • Very good tone. And extremely good playing!

  • Amazing tone!

I always thought the 1959 sounded better than the 1987. Not any more.

    Great playing.

What tubes are you running in that jewel of an amp?

  • hey, pretty damn good playing and a killer amp, what more do you want in a video? Im sure its much better when your sitting in front of the cab!!

  • when does this start too really break up?

  • This is a great sounding amp!

Closest to true Jimi Hendrix tone I have heard!

  • I'm in love with that amp!!! Your American RI strat sounds amazing, and everything going through the losses of the cam mike, internet digitization, and my computer speaker system... it still comes through!

  • It is seldom to see an amp with a good tone! This one is a classic!

  • very good sound

  • very very very nice

  • amazing tone...there's a magic in that amp...

  • that little wing tone!!

    that's SRV...

Good tone.......I wish I could get this out of my bogner :(

  • do i hear a tape echo or something ?

  • It hangs together nicely, you want the ability to get that elusive loud clean tone

  • @LabelBob - HELL YEAH!!! Bro, you are right on... anyone who has ever owned an actual "Vintage" Marshall knows that it's clean sound is the straight dope. And if you want to push it to overdrive, the "Power Tube" section is where it's at. So many people think, "Well, if I can overdrive the preamp, I'll get so much more distortion". And that is partially true, however, "Power Tube Distortion" is a thing of beauty...

And coming full circle, there is NOTHING like a good Marshall clean tone!

  • Your hey joe tone was absolutely wonderful! I would love to see a demo of your amp cranked man! Pull out thoes sick hendrix tones and shit!

  • I think cross channeling it would improve the tone. It is thin and trebly sounding to me. Needs bass.

  • @TTmaniax that's only an effect of the cam's mic

  • @stratocastervox Or get a better headset:) Sounds fine here.

  • @TTmaniax you are dope, the sound is fantastic , freakin monkey spanker your probably own a crate

  • @axetogrind59 Sounds thin and trebly. I can't help it you were born with a tin ear. You probably own some tractor gauge covered, mother of pearl encrusted, purple tolex covered boutique woman's amp and think you are cool for it.

  • @TTmaniax I think you are a cross dresser you dumbass, That amp sounds very good. Speakers and cab is a nice match also

  • @axetogrind59 Even if I was a cross dresser it would mean you talk to cross dressers on youtube. Sounds like you are lonely. Don't just hand them to me bra, that's too easy.

    Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

  • @TTmaniax You make no sense, save up your money while working at burger king and in 5 years you can get a tube amp

  • @axetogrind59 I already have the 100 watt plexi. It gets excellent bass response with 6550's and stratocaster as opposed to EL34s.

  • @TTmaniax Oh bullsht the only Marshall you have is the dress you bought from Marshalls. Save up your money , I know your burger king paycheck is not much maybe you can shovel snow and cut grass in the summer or get an extra job at a Ghandi mart and in a couple years you could buy a Marshall Plexi X, cause you sure can't buy a real plexi on your pay grade

  • @axetogrind59 Lol, I had the brainpower to get the plexi using pay from my first job when I turned 16. That was almost twenty years ago, if a dipshit like you can count. At the time the reissue could be had for just under a grand. I bought the AX cab a few years later.

Your accusations are unfounded and your username implies you are an asshole, so I guess this is standard procedure for you.

  • @TTmaniax What the freak are you blabbing about? Reads like you are trying to get your legal degree on line. Dope! You do not even get my user name dumbass, which verifies your bullsht. Your screen name reads like female products maxi pads. Donkey balls the amp sounds great. Stop wasting time with your bullsht, you got no marshall. You got a solid state crate.

  • @axetogrind59 Yes, your user name does reflect the fact that you are a dickhead. You didn't even have the courtesy to respond to my last post in a timely manner. You probably own a Dr. Z and think you are a badass on account of it. The amp sounds trebly on the video, you have a tin ear.

  • @TTmaniax Try telling that to jimi Hendrix if he was still alive. He played through the bright input, TOP LEFT. He has the best tones that guys try to get now a days. I'd say this Marshall clip, is really great. Nothing beats a good old Marshall. Old Marshalls don't need to "improve the tone", If you can't hear, the TONE is right there. That's the Marshall sound.

Great video man! Thank you for posting a great sounding amp! :)

  • I here all these pedals, Wampler and others that say they are dead on. Guess what, no F_in way. The tone out of your machine is what it is all about. Kudos on great tone and playing. Fuc_ the pedals!

  • You can always tell a strat when you hear it. Good for some classic tones and terrible imo for higher gain.

  • Whats the name of the riff at the start, everyone plays it

  • @Kmanmarr little wing

  • @Kmanmarr ......

  • @Kastralis Yea yea I know shun me, I'm just more of a clapton fan ok :)

  • ABSOLUTELY AMAZING TONE! I've fallen in love...

  • At least this guy admits that he's using a pedal to make the amp have drive cause alot of other videos with these older Marshalls they make it out to be like the amp is actually making drive on its own

  • Little wing :D

  • That RULES!! Great tone...even better playing.BRAVO A+

  • you got it thats the sound baby!

  • Can someone tell me why people always say that plexis are LOUD like SUPER LOUD it's 100 watts of course it's going to be loud

  • @guitarmessiah95 If you don't know you've never owned or played a vintage plexi, those things don't have a bedroom level, my roommates one has no output when the volume was between 0 to 1, and then just punches you in the guy at 1, lol. It literally was unusable in our apartment, he had to use a powersoak and we had to get gigs just so that he could enjoy it, mind you its tone is just RIDICULOUS, you CAN'T resist playing Hendrix on it, I dare you not to.

  • @guitarmessiah95 A bass player i used to gig with's dad collected amps and had one. He never stops telling people the story about how his dad cranked it once in their mansion basement and their ridiculously expensive chandelier (this thing was HUGE, phantom of the opera huge) that was hanging over their staircase area came crashing down. He was rich, it was a rare original in red tolex with the matching cab in red, I never got to hear that amp though, I don't think he's allowed to play it now.

  • @wildbill85 I see....I never played one before..the loudest thing i played is a 100 watt JVM and you can't really get too high in the store.

  • Flawless Victory!

  • i would crank it threw a really old jackson!!! not a thin strat tone even though that clean tone you have now is unbeatable...

  • @Lesterdevin strats are not thin dude. Ever heard of the magic neck pickup?

  • @GallGael2 UHHH there thin dude clicky and thin sounding. all 8 of you need to watch this vid over. not a strat hater also.

  • @Lesterdevin ....Yes these amps have plaenty of bottom...I use a early 70's cab w the old 30's,low end big time, but my late 60's 50 needs service, might try some NOS tubes

  • @pecowart sweet lucky dude.

  • Damnnnnn I'm so jealous.

  • what are your settings *__*LOVE THE TONE !

  • nice playing/tone

  • is this the 1987X ?! amazing tone my brotha...

  • no, it is an original 1987 from 1968. 1987X is the Reissue.

  • @stratocastervox So this is also called a JMP50 then?

  • @stratocastervox It's an 1987 from 1968? Haha

  • @KirkTheGod Those Marshall model numbers are sometimes confusing.

  • Ah the beginning is just SEX my friend. I love that sound. God damn.

  • I have a Super Reverb new stock and it does not sound so good.

    Time for a change.

    Again.

  • this sounds godlike. I want one.

  • riviera paradise<3<3<3<3

  • nice playing! JMI was the king. This 68 should do crazy Van Halen tones, too! make a vid!

  • lovely tone, meat n potaytoeeeeeeeeeeeeeees

  • how come nobody is able to build such an awwwwweeeeesome amp today O.o

  • Why do you wish to not share your playing capabilities? .....Share your years of hard work, thank you hog~~

  • Great Tone!!!

  • Would you recommend the 50 watt head over the 100?

  • Sounds great!

  • You ever gonna crank that mother fucker up?

  • @FreeTalkLive

    not in my flat haha

  • you got that jimi hendrix tone down so well

  • Im diggin it..Love that nasty breakup on the lows and the mids or cosmic...Sweet

  • So is this an original amp? or reissue?

It sounds pretty amazing either way

  • love the Hendrix sound

  • sounds awesome :)

  • listen to srv's cover of this sounds, so similar, amazing tone

  • Love the sound of a clean pexi (around 5 before breakup), I like it better than than the compressed sound everyone like when dimed.

  • @andy92811 a 50 watt plexi breaks up at around 2 already...

  • @GetReide Maybe a 1987xl with the awful bright cap.

  • love your tone, what can you expect from a nice strat into a nice amp like that its a match made in heaven.

  • I love Little Wing. Good stuff....... :-)

  • kinda fendery soundin, nice,,

  • @flyfish777 maybe because its a fender stratocaster -.-...

  • awesome, sounds great!!!!

  • wow! great tone sound just like jimi!

  • What cab is this man? great sound btw :)

  • That is a bloody good sound.

  • bro...

  • amp, pedal settings? oh, and what would be stage level for this baby? or should i get a bluesbreaker? when does it start to overdrive?

  • DAMN!! Beautiful tone...

  • I really like this tone. Some marshalls are fabulous for clean and funky sounds sometimes more so than fender which marshall based its amp on. The bassman. Nice and spanky.

  • Yeah I sometimes wonder why that is. Maybe the model of the marshall is key.

  • i have an offer to buy marshall artiste 76 for 1300 $ head and cab

    what do u think?

  • I have a 78 JMP 50 w m/v that sound great

as well . It has the EL34's instead of 6550

  • Also, do you know where I can find one of these? I'm looking for something EXACTLY like it.

  • I can build you one.

  • I'm listening

  • how much would you charge? i want one of these so badly!

  • @EVTMods U can build a plexi? How much? Where are u out of?

  • @theShowStopper321 Yes, I can. They are expensive and I live in Los Angeles. The amp's I buld are all hand wired and sound better than the reissue(s)

  • I'll buy it off ya if you're sellin' it. I'm serious. Let me know if you're selling please

  • Haha, sorry bro, i wouldn't sell it in 1000 years! ;-D

  • It's all good, I don't blame ya. Haha, take care =)

  • I have an all original 1968 big box 50-watt JMP that I am going to let go if you are interested.

  • @BarnesSean condition & price?

  • @stratocastervox then I have to steal it. It's not me if it disappears from you bedroom one day.

  • how about 1001:))

  • @stratocastervox hey i say the same dang thing but sonner ore later sommthing is gonna pop up and youv gonna want it soo your gonna sell it somme day.. ive got the experiance

  • @stratocastervox do you have to change the tubes often ??

  • @stratocastervox Get back to me in 1000 years please... If not, there may be £/$/EUR 1,000,0000 in the bank waiting for you.... Good shit and nice Hendrix chops

  • What do you think of the HW cab? Satisfied with it?

  • Absolutely.

  • What pickups are on your 62 reissue Stratocaster?

  • Leosounds 1962 ST Classic. They sound much more like the early-'60s-era than the thin and clean sounding Fender '57/'62s.

  • wooow!! what a great tone!! Is this a JMP 50 bass or lead?

  • Lead.
