I used to own a '87 VS Fiero GT & I loved it. The only problem was I didn't care that they made it a hot-running car. It only took the 95degree thermostat so the cooling fan was always on full blast. I remember it would stall on me whenever it reached a high temp. I took it to the dealership twice & they kept saying they couldn't find anything wrong even though the problem persisted. When I sold it years later the buyer found a slit on the large air intake hose. I felt like going back to the

dealership & socking those fucking mechanics. With all their troubleshooting devices they couldn't figure that out & save me a lot of heat while on the road. Anyway, besides that the car ran great.

those cracks come from the mechanic's lifts. the hoses run from front to back on em' and get crushed by todays brilliant mechanics.

Nope, it didn't come with power steering at all, any year. 1988 was going to get Electric Power Steering (not primitive, this was new and innovative, and the same being used in some new cars today) but GM scrapped the idea because of cost and noise issues.

all fieros have manual steering. Power steering was going to be on the 89, but it never became a reality. Funnily enough, all fieros (i think), had the holes drilled for the installation of a power steering rack. There were a few power steering setups made though. You see them every now and again on ebay, but they cost a pretty penny.

John DeLorean wanted to design the Fiero in 1967 after he had designed the Pontiac GTO, but they killed the plan because they needed to redesign the next generation Corvette. John went off to design the DMC-12, which had light body panels and a rear engine just like he wanted, so the Fiero was in fact designed by Hulki Aldikacti

i love these cars they have more weight on the rear tires so its harder to peel the tires. its funny when people dont know that the whole drivetrain is in the rear.

No, I don't. The stock '84 Fiero had a near perfect 50/50 weight ratio, and almost zero body roll in corners. It is not a "Yank Tank" - clever term tho. Now if you want to apply it to say...the Chrysler 300, I'll agree with you.
