It's really bizarre but the music used to accompany the episodes really reminds me of the music in Mr Benn, haha!!! I guess it was all quite similar then!
I'm guessing Marcus Harris's nuts dropped between series, because in my childhood memories of Five go Down to the Sea his voice was a hell of a lot deeper than that. And he did actually look older than Gary Russell. (Who was actually the oldest of the four actors.)
I still can mention The Famous Five : George, Julian, Anne, Dick & Timmy the dog, in 1985-1986 we in Indonesia, used to watch this series on TV on certain day at.5 p.m. thank you and I am now 35.
Great to see it again. Im reading through the books I got from Ginger Pop shop at Corfe Castle. On book 17 (Five get into a fix). Great easy read. thanks fot the video
I used to rush home after school to watch this, loved it and the books (great outfits!!). Very sad point that when I was 9 I had all my hair cut short and wouldn't speak to anyone if they didn't call me George. (I even made mum buy me ginger beer and forced myself to drink it despite the fact that I hated the stuff). Happy days!!!
These programmes were a very poor adaption of the stories. I read every one of the books when I was a child, Sunday afternoons in winter, sitting by the fire, that was far more enjoyable then watching this rubbish.....
My Grandmother sent me a box set of the famous five.I used to watch them all the time.
In Germany they have made a stupid modern version of it ,I like this one better though.

@rishian222 Tragically the actress playing George committed suicide some time ago.

@childrenofbodomdave oh nooooooooo you sure?

@rishian222 Georgina was her name, but she was a tomboy, so the name "George" was what she preferred and pretty logical really.

Ja, you're right broer. TVRI named it: "Lima Sekawan" or "Petualangan Lima Sekawan". I think it used to be broadcasted every friday afternoon.
